The Comments Said She’d Replace My Daughter? Not on My Watch Chapter 14

My daughter curled her lip. “Don’t like you. Bad woman.”

Tessa’s smile faded at once. She frowned and asked, “What’s going on?”

The fisherman explained, “She doesn’t just forget the past. She behaves like a little child/now.’

I pulled my daughter into my arms. “Either way, what matters is that she’s home.”

“Thank you. You’re our family’s savior. Margaret, please see this gentleman home.”

The fisherman took a bank card from Margaret and left happily.

I had the best doctors examine her.

Because of the high fall, her brain was injured and the tissue swelled. She lost years of memory before the fall, and with damage to her frontal lobe, her mind had regressed to that of a child.

She would need ongoing treatment, with no timeline for recovery.

I held my daughter and wept. “Why has my daughter’s life been so hard?”

Tessa came to comfort me. “Ma’am, don’t be sad. I grew up with Nina. I’ll take good care of her, and

she’ll recover soon.”

I nodded.

But the next second, my daughter threw the hot soup I had prepared across the table at Tessa.

Tessa froze, then let out a scream.

“Ow, ow, it’s so hot!”

“H-how could you throw that at me!”

“Nyah nyah.” My daughter stuck out her tongue at her and said matter-of-factly, “Mom is mine. Stay away from her. If you come near my mom again, I’ll throw soup at you every time I see you!”

Tessa’s face went red, then white.

I stepped forward to wipe her face. “Tessa, don’t take it personally. She’s like a child now.”

The dry tissue scraped against her face, nearly making her jump. “Ma’am, I’ll just rinse it with cold

water myself.”

She turned and fled.

My daughter winked at me playfully.

I smiled helplessly.

[The female lead’s face is so red. That must hurt like crazy.]

[Haha, Nina did that on purpose. She’s so mischievous.]

It took several days of medicine for Tessa’s face to heal.

But she didn’t know it was only the beginning.

At first, she still tried to hover around my daughter.

She tried to feed Nina medicine; Nina knocked it away.

She tried to please her; Nina spat at her.

But whenever she got hurt, everyone rushed to my daughter first.

What frustrated her most was that Marcus, who had once defied his mother for her sake, now acted possessed and only hovered around his sister.

Everyone frowned and told her to be more understanding of his sister.

All she could do was grit her teeth and endure.
