The Comments Said He Never Wanted Me—So Why Did Divorce Make Him Snap? Chapter 03

Edmond froze.

“you want a divorce?” His voice dropped heavily.

“Yeah,” I replied softly. “Isn’t this what you’ve been waiting for?”

He looked down, silent.

He had brought it up when we first married.

Three years.

We would divorce after three years, and I could take half his assets as a token of gratitude for my

parents saving his.

Three years was also enough time for us to part gracefully.

I refused back then.

And I went straight to his parents, watching triumphantly with my hands on my hips as they chewed

him out.

He had looked at me coldly that day, his eyes devoid of emotion.

Now that I was cutting my losses and setting him free, his gaze turned even colder.

“What are you up to now?”

“Edmond, I mean it. Draft the divorce papers however you want.”

“The moment you sign, I’ll sign. I’m fine with leaving with nothing.”

Edmond frowned, his lips curling into a sneer.

“Raina, stop it.”

He stood up, picked up the basin, and walked out.

That night, he never stepped foot into our bedroom.

Just like before.

Unless I forced him, he would never come near my bed.

Fine by me.

I didn’t want to share a bed with a man who’d eventually have me killed anyway.

I slept terribly that night.

So what if Edmond was gone? Good riddance.

But the comments said my own kid would end up calling the female lead mommy?

When I woke up groggy the next morning, my son, Luca, was already waiting at the door.

That was a rule I set for him.

Every morning, he had to wait for me to wake up, leave breakfast by my bed, and say “good /

morning.”

Who said my son would acknowledge someone else?

Look how sweet he was right now.

Yet, as he set breakfast on the table, he said, “Do you know about Brielle now?”

I blinked.

“If you want a divorce, just divorce. Why do you have to make things difficult for Brielle?”

Who was Brielle?

How was I making things difficult for her?

The comments went wild:

[Omg! Luca is standing up for our baby girl!]

[He’s so right! The villainess brings up divorce right now so everyone thinks our baby girl broke up the family and called her a homewrecker!]

[She’s so scheming! God, I wanna reach through the screen and slap her!]

[Don’t worry, both Edmond and Luca saw right through her little trick. That’s why they’re confronting her, isn’t it?]

[Good job, Luca! Break her heart! A shameless woman like her only cares about her kid! Make her suffer!]

I stared at Luca in disbelief. “You know?”

“Dad told me. He said you’re manipulative.”

I clenched my fists.

No wonder Edmond had been so cold to me last night.

Looking at Luca, I paused.

“If your dad and I really divorce, who will you go with?”

[Lmao, is that even a question? Luca already calls the female lead mommy at the office!]

My body went stiff.

Luca stared at me. “Are you… sure you want a divorce? No regrets?”

[Hahaha! Luca is already imagining his happy life with our baby girl!]

[The villainess never fails to embarrass herself.]

My own son… really didn’t want me?

Ignoring the sharp pain in my back, I sat up.

“Luca.”

I reached for his hand, but he took a step back.

I tried to grab his sleeve, but he jerked it away.

I was strict with him, sure.

But his food, clothes, toys, and schooling were all carefully curated by me.

I hated handcrafts, yet I turned myself into a master knitter for him.

I grabbed at his shirt.

It wasn’t one I knitted.

“Don’t touch this!”

He jerked back like I’d soiled something precious, retreating to the doorway.

[Look at him guarding it like treasure-our baby girl bought him that!]

“Luca…” I stared at him in a daze.

He pouted. “Dad said this shirt is special.”

He turned and ran off.

The comments erupted in laughter:

[The two of them are absolutely smitten with our baby girl!]

[Edmond strictly told Luca not to ruin the shirt our baby girl bought him, while the sweater the

villainess knitted sits in the closet untouched!]

[It’s so obvious who he loves and who he doesn’t. Don’t give her an ounce of kindness! The more heartbroken she gets, the happier I am for our baby girl!]

I clenched my fists.

Grit my teeth, I forced my tears back.

Fine! Go, all of you!

Consider me blind for ever caring!

Turning around, I snatched up my phone.

“Same place. Don’t any of you dare miss it.”
