The Child I Carry Is Not Your Heir Chapter 10

Chloe’s face darkened instantly, snapping a sharp rebuke.

“How dare you show your face here after everything you’ve done!”

Dangerous tension rolled off Jay’s frame, and Sam’s security detail rushed over to apologize to their boss.

“We’re terribly sorry, sir. We followed your orders to block him off, but nothing could stop him from breaking

through.”

Some unexplained burst of strength let Jay barrel straight past all armed guards.

He strode onto the decorated wedding stage as the whole crowd gasped in shock.

Chloe shouted angrily. “Get off this stage right now! Leave immediately!”

Jay’s eyes burned bloodshot with raw despair fixed entirely on me.

“Grace, come home with me. All of this is just some terrible lie, isn’t it?”

“How could you stop loving me and run off to marry another man?”

You still love me deep down, right? I’ll never treat you like just a side character ever again. I’ll prioritize every

single thing that matters to you from now on.”

“Please pick me instead. I’ll give you a wedding a million times more lavish than this one, I’ll agree to every

single demand you have if you’ll just marry me.”

Tears burst from him as he broke into messy sobs, like a child who’d lost their most precious possession.

Once these were the exact heartfelt pleas I’d spent countless lonely nights craving to hear. Now they left me

completely unmoved.

I spoke coldly.

“It’s too late. I don’t love you anymore, Jay. Go home.”

Sam signaled his trusted men to drag Jay outside right after my reply.

His hate-filled gaze stabbed right through my chest, yet I slipped my wedding band on and sealed our

marriage with a deep kiss beside Sam.

The reception wrapped up on schedule, yet a heavy weight settled over my heart for hours afterward.

Sam sat beside me on our wedding bed and laced his fingers through mine gently. “I know what’s weighing

on your mind. He’s waiting outside the venue if you need to speak with him. I’ll keep protecting you no matter

what happens.”

I looked up at him overcome with gratitude, refusing to betray his loyal devotion.

I stepped outside to find Jay hunched alone against the outer wall.

His hair was matted and unkempt, his once broad proud shoulders slumped in defeat, every trace of his

usual arrogant pride gone.

He seemed ready to camp out there forever waiting for me to appear.

He whipped around in stunned surprise hearing my footsteps, his face lighting up instantly when he spotted

“Grace! I knew you’d come for me!”

“You still care about me, you couldn’t cut me off that easily.”

He closed the distance in a rush and pulled me tight into a crushing embrace.

“I was wrong how I treated you, I never should’ve hurt you. Give me just one shot to make all of this right,

please.”

I pulled free and shook my head firmly.

“There’s no second chance for us. I’m legally married now, leave me alone for good.”

The words hit him like lightning, and his grip clamped tight around my arms as if trying to bore into my soul.

“You loved me faithfully for ten whole years, how can that vanish overnight?”

Is it only because I never returned your feelings before?”

“I’m telling you now-I’m madly in love with you, far more than I ever realized. Come back with me, I beg you.”

I stared back at him as though watching a raving lunatic.

“Why would I abandon my life? I’ve got a loving husband and a baby on the way I’m overjoyed to welcome.

I’m perfectly happy without you forcing your way back in.”

Jay’s eyes reddened completely, fingers digging into my shoulders.

“I don’t care about the baby at all. If you choose me, I’ll raise your child as my own flesh and blood.”

Flashbacks flooded my mind of ten long years filled with his endless humiliation and cruel teasing, how he’d

mocked me like a cheap joke for his own amusement.

Dread coiled in my chest at the thought of my baby suffering that same fate.

I shoved him away hard.

“Quit your ridiculous fantasies. My child will never share any connection with you whatsoever.”

“We’re two separate parallel lines. Not even in our next lifetimes will our paths ever cross again.”

I turned and walked away without a single regret, leaving Jay collapsed on the ground wailing in utter

hopelessness.

I stepped back inside and melted into Sam’s warm hug.

I’d finally found the genuine love I’d always wanted.

Every remaining day of my life would be spent happily alongside Mr. Sam.
