The CEO Confessed In Delivery Room While I Bled Out Chapter 03

The door opened again.

My mom walked in and took in the scene, the mess, me on the floor, Caleb holding Vanessa.

It didn’t take her long to figure it out.

She rolled her eyes and pointed at me. “Elena, don’t start this again. You’ve always been like this. Picking on your sister since you were little.”

My dad snorted. “Ungrateful brat.”

I tried to fight back.

But when I opened my mouth, I gagged and threw up instead.

Caleb’s face went soft. He moved toward me. Vanessa grabbed his arm.

Then she knelt down in front of me and wiped my mouth with a wipe. Gentle. Sweet. Anyone watching would think she was an angel.

But her voice was a knife. “I’m not trying to ruin your family, Elena. I want you to be okay.”

“But you had a girl. And you lost your uterus. You can’t have more kids. You know Caleb needs a son. Only I can give him that. I’m not trying to replace you. There’s room for both of us.”

The rest faded into static.

No uterus. No more kids.

A surge of hatred tore through me.

I lunged at Vanessa. Grabbed her hair. Slammed her head into the floor.

She screamed. It felt good.

My parents and Caleb ripped me off her.

But I wouldn’t let go. My fingers were tangled in her hair.

Caleb’s face went cold.

He grabbed my hand and bent my fingers back until pain exploded through my hand.

I screamed. He shoved me away. Picked up Vanessa. Held her while she cried.

My dad lashed out and kicked me in the side.

My mom was sobbing. “She’s pregnant! How could you be so cruel?”

Blood dripped down my chin.

I was seven years old again. Left at home while they went on vacation together. Almost starved.

Nothing ever changed.

Everything I had, Vanessa took.

Nurses ran in.

Caleb looked at them. “She’s out of control. She’s not stable. Lock her up.”

They put me in a psychiatric hospital and forced me to undergo ECT, pumped me full of pills, and strapped me down whenever I resisted.

I fell apart day by day.

A month later, they let me out.

Caleb’s assistant came to pick me up. He looked at me with something like pity in his eyes.

When I got home, I understood why.

Clothes were scattered everywhere. The trash was full of used tissues.

Vanessa slid off Caleb and pulled on my favorite silk robe. She pushed his shoulder, all sweet and coy. “Come on, get up. Don’t let Elena watch.”

My nails dug into my palms. “You’re pathetic, Vanessa. Pregnant and still can’t keep your legs closed? Not worried about that little bastard?”

“And you, Caleb. You know how many guys she’s been with? She’s disgusting.”

“Shut your mouth!” Caleb’s voice boomed.

I laughed until I couldn’t breathe. “What? You don’t like the truth?”

“Elena!”

He yelled my name. Then his face softened. “I know this is hard. No matter what, I’m not walking away from you.”

“But Vanessa is carrying my child. She has nothing. Don’t make this worse.”

He paused. “If you really want a divorce, I’ll give you money. A lot of it.”

Vanessa’s eyes lit up.

I looked right at her and smiled. “You wish. I’m not divorcing him. She’ll stay the mistress. Her kid stays a bastard. You two can rot together.”

I started throwing things again.

Then the baby cried.

I froze.

They were already gone.

I sat in the wreckage, laughing and crying.

The nanny stood in the doorway, holding my daughter.

I wiped my hands and reached for her.

She stopped crying the moment I held her, tucking her tiny fist into her mouth as she smiled.

I pressed my lips to her head. “It’s just you and me now, Lily.”
