The CEO And His Ambitious Model Chapter 08

The CEO And His Ambitious Model Chapter 08

Early the next morning, I took a taxi to Theo’s penthouse.

There were some things I needed to ask him, clearly and directly.

But the second my hand touched the study door handle, I heard two voices talking inside.

“The producer at Paramount really likes you. He wants you to star in his next film. This is an incredible opportunity for you.”

Will’s hands, hanging at his sides, clenched and unclenched. Finally, he summoned his courage and spoke.

“But there’s someone I like…”

Theo’s lips curled into a smirk, but his tone was ice cold.

“Are you blind? Can’t you tell Mia’s reserved for me? Off-limits.”

Will blurted out before he could stop himself, “I know, but with your family background, how could you ever marry a woman with no connections, no background?”

The second the words left his mouth, even Will froze.

Theo’s dark eyes narrowed slightly.

“Get out. Don’t ever tell anyone I mentored you.”

“I, Theo Whitmore, can’t afford to lose face like that.”

When Will walked out of the study and saw me, his face went rigid for a second.

He dropped his gaze and walked past me without a word.

I was still standing there, stunned, when Theo walked out of the study too.

He grabbed my hand and pulled me upstairs.

It wasn’t until he pushed me down to sit on the edge of the bed that I finally snapped out of it.

Theo looked down at me, clearly displeased.

“Why didn’t you wait for me in your room that night?”

I bit my lip. “I waited for a while. But I heard you’d suddenly announced an engagement, so I figured you’d be busy. I left on my own.”

“Then… do you accept my proposal?”

I stared at him, completely confused.

“When did you propose to me?”

Theo frowned. “Didn’t Eleanor give you the ring?”

Eleanor was his assistant.

I thought for a second, then suddenly remembered. Eleanor had indeed brought me a gift box the night after the gala.

“Mr. Theo had something come up last minute. He asked me to give this to you.”

I’d taken the box, confused. “Why the sudden gift?”

Eleanor had said, “It’s probably a farewell gift, since your contract is ending soon?”

But I’d been in such a bad mood that night, I’d never opened it.

Theo kept talking, like he hadn’t noticed my shock.

“Never mind. I’ll propose again properly, another time.”

“But you always acted like you didn’t like me, Theo…”

“Whether I like you or not, didn’t you feel it that night in the makeup room?”

So he had remembered everything that happened that night in the makeup room.

My heart pounded wildly in my chest. “You were drugged then. It doesn’t count.”

The next second, my lips went soft.

Theo pulled me into his arms and into the bedroom.

The same position as that night, the same way he kissed me.

When my lips and tongue were numb from his kiss, he pulled back slightly and asked in a hoarse voice,

“Does this count?”
