Arthur’s answer was simple. 

“I agree with my daughter.” 

“A man who chases women and neglects his duties like you isn’t fit to be Transatlantic’s regional representative.” 

“I’m going to clean house for Transatlantic and find someone more suitable to sit in that position.” 

Derek almost laughed his head off. He replied without 

changing his expression. 

“Whether I am fit to sit here is for Transatlantic’s board to 

decide. Not you.” 

“Now I’m taking Chief Shaw to a hospital. Move.” 

Arthur refused to budge. 

He even pulled out a document to force Derek’s hand. 

“Either you sign this today and make me Transatlantic’s first 

local partner, and then let my daughter deal with this 

shameless woman.” 

“From now on, we work together. You eat when I eat.” 

“Or I’ll make sure both you lovebirds disappear together.” 

He snapped his fingers. 

Guards brought back the cage with the Tibetan Mastiff. The dog stared at Derek with murderous eyes. 

Derek was furious, but he held his ground. “I will never agree 

to such an absurd demand.” 

“I’ve already called 911. The Sheriff’s deputies are on their 

way.” 

Before he could finish, Sierra opened the cage. 

She gave a signal, and the animal lunged, biting down on 

Derek’s leg. 

Derek was knocked to the ground. Blood soaked through his 

pant leg. He glared at the father and daughter in front of him despite the pain. 

“How dare you? I am Transatlantic’s regional representative.” 

“One phone call from me, and the Sterling family loses 

Transatlantic’s trust forever.” 

“No other international firm will consider the Sterling family 

for future investment either.” 

Sierra just sneered. 

“Mr. Cross, you’ve spent too much time overseas and forgotten how things work here.” 

“You might be Transatlantic’s representative, but my father is 

the richest man in New England.” 

“If you die here today, my father will just say you and your mistress got into a fight at the party and killed each other.” 

“With all these witnesses, who do you think Transatlantic will 

believe?” 

Derek looked around at the other guests. 

Many of them were rich businessmen who had shown up with expensive gifts to suck up to him earlier that day. 

But now they all looked down at their feet. They were clearly going along with what Sierra said. 

Derek was beyond furious, but he still refused to give in. 

He said, “You’ll get what’s coming to you.” Then he closed his eyes and waited for death. 

But the pain of having his throat torn out by a dog never came. 

Instead, he heard Sierra scream. 

He opened his eyes. There I was, weak and barely standing, 

holding a steak knife and driving it straight through the 

animal’s throat. 

The Tibetan Mastiff twitched and finally collapsed. 

That beast had hurt who knows how many people over the 

years, always protected by its master. Now it was finally dead. 

But Sierra lost her mind at the sight of her beloved dog dying. She grabbed a fork from the table and lunged at my eyes. 

This time, I didn’t let her get away with it. 

I grabbed her arm, felt the edge of a silicone mask at the back of her scalp, and yanked it hard. 

In the next second, a completely unfamiliar face appeared in front of everyone. 

Arthur stared at the stranger in shock. “Who are you? Where is 

my daughter?”
