The Alpha’s Unwanted Mate Chapter 07

The Alpha’s Unwanted Mate Chapter 07

He quickly curled his fingers, making me tense up as well.

Tristan, now the Alpha of Newmoon Pack, was primarily responsible for the Lycan joint training program.

Tristan cleared his throat and handed me a towel.

“Don’t overdo it. At this rate, you could probably take down a cow.”

Hearing his words, I smiled faintly.

Since I came to Switzerland, Tristan had been like a solid shield, standing between me and the past.

Although I refused to join his pack, he helped me find an apartment, worried I’d be lonely, and even gave me a family guard dog.

Knowing I was still weak from the miscarriage, he took a 20-minute detour every day to drop me off at work.

I was about to thank him when my phone buzzed.

Seeing that it was an anonymous number, I hung up.

“Is it him again?” Tristan frowned.

Over the past three months, Asher had tried to contact me in various ways, even tracing to Newmoon Pack.

I shook my head, setting my phone to silent, “Don’t bother.”

After a pleasant gathering with the other warriors, I leashed the dog and went downstairs for a walk.

Not far from the building, I was stopped by a familiar figure.

“Ophelia.” Asher spoke, his eyes red with tears. “I’ve been looking for you.”

After three months, he had lost weight, and his eyes were sunken with dark circles.

I pulled the leash tight, stepping back, “Don’t come any closer.”

The coldness in my eyes stung Asher, but he pressed forward recklessly.

He started to speak, but my guardian dog was already in attack mode, snarling and barking fiercely at him.

Asher ignored it, closing in and backing me against a wall. “We need to talk.”

I frowned. “We have nothing to talk about.”

He punched the wall beside my ear, trapping me in the narrow space.

“Ophelia, have you forgotten our three years? You just walked out of the ceremony, and now you think a simple bond-breaking deal can end everything? What do you think I am?”

I couldn’t be bothered to explain.

I pushed him again, but he didn’t budge, even as the guard dog began barking and growling.

As the crowd gathered, I had no choice but to compromise.

At the riverside café, Asher slid a cup of unsweetened iced Americano in front of me.

“You see, I remember your habits.”

I couldn’t help but sneer.

I’ve always hated bitterness. The black coffee in the pack house was only for his taste.

As for the extra ice, it was just to dilute the unbearable bitterness.

Before I could speak, Asher continued.

“I didn’t step in to protect you when you were slandered for seducing the underage pack members. I apologize. I trusted Daphne, not knowing it would lead to your miscarriage…”

“Sex toys, SM, bondage, anything else—if you don’t like it, we’ll stop using them.”

Asher spoke, lowering his head unconsciously.

I scoffed. He still couldn’t bring himself to speak the truth.

“I bought you gifts I knew you’d love.”

He pulled a velvet box from his pocket, opening it to reveal a pair of custom bonding diamond rings.

Exactly the style he promised to give me during the ceremony preparations.

I picked up one of the rings, twirled it between my fingers, then let go and threw it into the river.

With a plop, the symbol of eternal bonding vanished.

Asher sprang to his feet, his face filled with disbelief.

I noticed the hem of his pants was torn, blood staining his calf.

“I don’t like it,” I lifted my eyes. “Is there anything else?”

He crushed the coffee cup in his hands, the shards breaking apart.

The guy who always had a thing for cleanliness didn’t even seem to notice the coffee stain on his sleeve.

Asher’s gaze locked on my oversized men’s coat, his voice rising in pitch.

“Who is he?” He stepped forward, grabbing me by the arm, “What’s your relationship with him?”

I slapped his hand away. “None of your business.”

Asher’s eyes widened in frustration. “Ophelia! We’ve only been apart for three months!”

The next moment, he grabbed my shoulders and kissed me fiercely.

The sound of a sharp slap echoed through the air as his left cheek quickly turned red and swollen.

After a long silence, the disbelief in his eyes slowly turned to despair.

“Ophelia, what do I need to do to make you happy?”

“I’ve restored your reputation. Once you’re back, I’ll make you the pack’s Luna and the top warrior trainer! Daphne has been kicked out of the pack and handed over to the pack enforcer. I can promise I’ll never contact her again! Isn’t that enough?”
