Six Years Of Afternoon Tea Bought Me The Truth About My Husband Chapter 07

Lainey’s first reaction was to lung forward to tear into me. “It’s a fake! You scheming bitch! You forged a

report to ruin my son!”

Callie stepped right out to block her. “Ma’am, there’s a hospital stamp on that report.”

Lainey slapped her across the face.

Callie didn’t dodge.

With a loud slap, everyone in the banquet hall witnessed it.

The driver rushed over to hold his wife.

His eyes were completely bloodshot. “Mr. Moreau, it’s one thing for you to fire me, but what right does your

mother have to hit my wife?”

Andres couldn’t spare a thought for him. He rushed up to me, his face a mask of pure panic. “Stevie, that report was old news. I recovered later on.”

“When exactly did you recover?”

He couldn’t answer.

I pulled a new examination slip out of my bag. “This is the result of your follow-up exam from last month.

Still azoospermia.”

Andres’s face turned completely grim.

Norah took half a step backward.

Lainey whipped her head around to look at her. “The child isn’t Andres’s?”

Norah panicked. “No, ma’am, please, let me explain.”

Lainey rushed over and grabbed her arm. “Whose bastard child are you carrying in your belly?”

Norah shrieked in pain.

Andres went over to pull his mother away “Mom! Stop it!”

Lainey slapped him right back. “You knew you couldn’t have children, and you still brought her here to

deceive me?”

The slap rang out crisply.

Andres stood there, unable to utter a single word.

Watching this farce play out, the suffocating knot in my chest slowly began to loosen.

So he wasn’t actually fooled by Norah.

He knew better than anyone.

He simply needed a child. A tool to force me to step aside.

The guests dispersed very quickly.

Nobody wanted to stay and finish a birthday banquet like this.

Lainey sat in a chair, weeping. Norah cowered in the corner from her non-stop cursing.

Andres shut off the large screen and walked up to me. “Are you satisfied now?”

“Not yet,” I said.

He grit his teeth, demanding, “Stevie, you ruined me. What good does that do you?”

“You made this mess. I just didn’t clean it up for you.”

“We’ve been married for ten years.”

“When you were transferring assets to Norah, why didn’t you think about our ten years of marriage?”

He fell silent.

I handed a document to him. “Sign the divorce agreement. The house goes to me, and half of the dividend

rights from the company under your name go to me. You also have to publicly admit that the one who couldn’t have children back then was you.”

He laughed. “Are you insane?”

I nodded, replying, “You don’t have to sign it if you don’t want to.”

He stared at me, asking, “And what if I don’t?”

I pulled out my phone and tapped open a folder.

Inside were the records of his bank transfers to Norah.

There were also screenshots of him having finance distribute money to Norah under the guise of bonuses.

Even more damning were the receipts showing he embezzled company funds to pay the down payment for

Norah’s apartment.

I hadn’t dug these up myself.

Callie’s husband had snapped photos of them inside the car.

Andres frequently left documents in the car, assuming the driver was uneducated and wouldn’t look.

The driver indeed couldn’t understand much of it.

But his wife knew how to take photos.

“If you don’t sign, I’ll send these to the company shareholders and business partners,” I said.

The look in Andres’s eyes shifted completely. “You wouldn’t dare.”

“Try me.”
