She Invited Me to Her Wedding, Didn’t Know I Was Already Married to the Groom Chapter 05

Charles’s face went white, panic flickering in his eyes. 

The crowd erupted in noise. 

Savannah’s face turned an ugly shade of red. She stared at me, unable to believe it. “Jennifer… what are you saying?” 

“I’m saying,” I said, my cold voice carrying through the 

speakers, “that you’d better ask his wife if this wedding can 

continue.” 

“That’s insane!” Savannah’s voice was shrill, though still 

strangely soft. 

I looked at Charles, who looked humiliated and cornered. 

He looked uncomfortable, shocked to see me. 

“Charles,” I said, not yelling, just quiet and disappointed. 

“Tell them who I am.” 

He exhaled slowly, stepped closer, and moved his microphone away. “I’m sorry. This is my fault. Let me explain at home, 

okay?” 

Home. That word set me off. 

I couldn’t hold back; I raised my hand and slapped him hard 

across the face. “Home?” 

“Charles, you don’t have a home anymore.” 

The crack of the slap echoed, and a red handprint bloomed on 

his cheek. 

“How dare you hit him!” Savannah ran to his side, trying to protect him. 

Standing together, despite the age difference, they looked 

perfect. 

He’d spent a fortune turning this small–town girl into a 

princess. 

Charles pulled her back. “Stop it.” 

He couldn’t meet my eyes as he spoke into his mic. “Sorry, 

everyone. The wedding is canceled. You can go home.” 

The crowd buzzed louder, but no one left. 

My assistant, Amanda, stood up first, furious. “Savannah, did 

you invite us here on purpose? Did you know exactly what you were doing, going after a married man?” 

She’d worked for me for three years, and I’d always been good 

to her. She couldn’t stand to see me hurt. 

Then she turned on Charles. “You coward! You throw a 

wedding for another woman while you have a wife at home?” 

“Now that you’re caught, you think you can just leave? No 

way. You owe Jennifer an explanation.” 

“And I’m telling you, my brother is a top divorce lawyer. If you don’t fix this, I’ll make sure he takes everything you’ve got.” 

She broke the dam, and my other coworkers started speaking 

up for me. 

“Yeah, explain yourself. Right here.” 

“I knew something was off when Savannah joined the firm. 

This was her plan all along.” 

“You should be ashamed of yourself. Was today your big move 

to push Jennifer out?” 

“Jennifer deserves better than this.”
