She Called It A Joke I Called It Revenge And Let Them Both Burn Chapter 07

The officer nodded, and the technicians immediately sampled all the dishes, including the cooking oil and various spices in 

the kitchen. 

While waiting for the results, the officer began questioning the three of us about our relationships. 

Meanwhile, other officers gathered all the staff and servers in the lobby for questioning. 

During the inquiry, Mrs. Gable stood firmly by my side, telling 

the police: 

“I would stake my reputation on Miss Vance’s innocence.” 

“She is a third–generation master chef. Her skills are incredible; she would never stoop to using such things!” 

Lexi immediately jumped up, screaming: 

“Shut up! You’re probably in on it too! Maybe you’re the one who helped her buy it!” 

Mrs. Gable turned pale with rage, her body trembling. 

The officer frowned and told Lexi to be quiet. 

Unfazed, Lexi pulled the procurement slip from her bag again 

and handed it to the officer, shouting: 

“Look, this is the order Seraphina placed for the grease. Her 

own boyfriend admitted she has a history. Who knows if she’s been drugging the food the whole time?” 

The officer took the slip, his eyes lingering on the name 

“Seraphina Vance” on the approval line. He looked at me 

sharply: 

“Anything else to say?” 

I looked down, a cold smirk touching my lips. I looked back at him, my voice certain: 

“My name was photoshopped onto that.” 

“The date on that order is three months ago. I only took over 

operations here on May 1st.” 

“Back then, my personal info wasn’t even in the restaurant’s system. How could I have signed off on a procurement order months ago?” 

As soon as I spoke, Lexi and Julian both went stiff, their eyes darting away in panic. 

The officer called over the administrative staff to check the backend system. After several checks, he confirmed my 

statement was true. 

This meant the “evidence” was forged! 

The motive for Lexi and Julian to forge this evidence was now very interesting to the police. 

Just then, a technician hurried over and reported: 

“Sir, we’ve finished testing all the dishes and spices. No illegal substances were found in the food.” 

With one sentence, I was completely cleared. 

The officer unlocked my handcuffs and turned to stare down 

Lexi, his voice cold and accusatory: 

“According to the staff, you have an intimate relationship with Julian Sterling. So, did you forge this evidence and plant the drugs to frame his girlfriend, Seraphina?” 

Lexi’s legs gave out, and she nearly collapsed, her voice shaking: 

“No! I didn’t frame her! I… I just brought the order out as a joke, and I only accused her because I was scared…” 

I stepped forward and calmly reminded the police: 

“There’s a hidden security camera in the pantry to monitor inventory. If you check the footage, you’ll see exactly who put that bag there.”
