Separated Rooms for Three Years, He Panicked After I Moved Out Chapter 30

I walked around him and left.

This time, he didn’t follow.

But I knew that once Briar Pierce set his mind to something, he didn’t give up easily.

I had learned that long ago.

To help Chloe with a legal problem, he had shown up at court every single day for a month, and in the end, he had won.

Now, he was turning that same relentless determination on me.

He started waiting downstairs from my apartment.

Not for a day or two. Every day.

Every morning, when I went out for my run, he would be standing by the flowerbed with a paper bag in his hand.

“I bought you a bagel. It’s still warm.”

“I don’t want it.”

“Then… be careful on your run. It’s colder today. You should wear more layers.”

I ignored him, put in my headphones, and started running.

When I came back an hour later, he was still standing there, the breakfast in his hand now cold.

I glanced at him, said nothing, and walked straight into the building.

At noon, when I went out to run errands, he was still there.

“Have you had lunch? There’s a great taco place nearby—”

“No, thank you.”

In the afternoon, when I went downstairs to pick up a package, he was still there.

“Let me carry that for you. It looks heavy.”

“I’ve got it.”
