Sacrificed by the Man Fated to Love Me Chapter 08

Simon sighed. “Please stop him from continuing to commit such atrocities. None of us can enter the alternate world. Only one traveler can exist in a single alternate world at any given time.”

I nodded. I didn’t want to see Terrence again, but I also didn’t want him to slaughter innocent people because of

I followed Simon to an abandoned building. The police had surrounded it, and they were currently using loudspeakers to call for surrender.

“You’re surrounded, Terrence Lawson. Put down your weapons and surrender immediately! Surrender, and you will be shown leniency!”

Simon led me past the police tape and into the building.

Once we went inside, I was immediately hit by a stench of blood. The smell was so overwhelming that I almost threw up.

At last, I saw Terrence.

He was in a room full of blood stains. He had his back toward me, and he was standing like a lifeless statue.

On the floor, Yvonne, who was on the brink of death, lay covered in blood. After being extensively tortured, she barely looked like a human being anymore. Several other men were also sprawled out across the floor. Like Yvonne, they were also unconscious and barely alive.

I took a deep breath before walking up to Terrence from behind.

“Terrence?” I called softly.

He turned around abruptly. Once he saw me, the emptiness in his eyes vanished, and a flicker of hope flashed across his face.

“Quinn? Did you come back?” he asked hopefully.

I stared at him with a complicated expression. I didn’t know how to feel. The man who used to love me deeply had turned into a complete wreck.

“Why did you do this, Terrence?”

He kept his eyes on me, but his gaze gradually grew deranged.

“I can’t lose you!” he cried. “I can’t!”

He tried to hug me, but his arms went straight through my body.

I flashed him a bitter smile and shook my head. “I’m dead, Terrence. You need to move on. Just let them go.”

Upon hearing what I said, despair flashed across his face. Subsequently, his expression twisted into madness.

“Are you mad at me, Quinn? Do you resent me because I didn’t save you?” he asked frantically. “I can kill Yvonne right now to avenge you!”

Subsequently, he snapped his head toward Yvonne and glared at her limp body.

I reached out to stop him.

“Stop killing people! The Terrence I knew would never do this.”

He turned around, and he began to sob like a helpless child.

“What do I do, Quinn? I can’t live without you…” he choked out.

I should’ve felt heartbroken, but I wasn’t fazed by how broken he looked at all. As it turned out, I actually didn’t love him anymore.

“Get a hold of yourself, Terrence!” I barked. “Torturing them won’t bring me back to life. Stop pretending like this is all for me, either.”

I paused and added, “If you were really doing this for me, you wouldn’t have hurt me in the first place.”

I glanced at him coldly. I used to love him. But now, I no longer had any feelings for him.

Terrence stumbled to his feet. With a panicked expression, he explained, “No-I never wanted to hurt you. I love you, Quinn.”

Right as his words fell, his body trembled. Then, he fell to his knees and clutched his head in agony. It seemed like he was being tormented by a wave of unbearable pain.

I knew that he was being punished for violating the laws of his world. I also knew that he was probably telling me the truth. However, his love was too cruel and selfish.

He looked up at me with a desperate and pleading expression. “Look at me, Quinn-look at how much pain I’m in. I really love you. I want to be with you.”

He crawled toward me like a wounded animal.

He was grasping at what little hope he had left. But to his dismay, I took a step back and shook my head.

“I don’t want to be with you. I can’t forgive you for what you’ve done,” I declared.

Terrence froze before his eyes widened in disbelief.

“Why? You changed. You used to be incredibly soft-hearted when it came to me,” he cried. “Why won’t you give me another chance? I only made one mistake.”

I felt completely unfazed. Staring at him, I said, “There were so many ways you could’ve helped Yvonne out of her predicament. You could’ve stopped her. You could’ve kept her from leaving the country.”
