Revenge On My Cheating Actor Husband Chapter 03

Revenge On My Cheating Actor Husband Chapter 03

“Theo, please let her be. I am a woman like her, so I understand,” Gemma said, seriously trying to act gracious, but the glint behind her eyes told me she was enjoying every second of this.

“Ugh! What a sobbing mess,” one guy said behind Gemma. Gemma smirked faintly.

I tried to wrench free from Theo’s grip on my shoulder, but he was stronger.

“Please take her home,” Gemma’s voice returned to that fake softness. “I’ll take myself to the hospital.”

“I won’t let you go there all alone.”

My already fragile heart shattered further. It was crystal clear now. I was never, and would never be, a priority to my so-called husband. It didn’t matter that I was sick and carrying his child. I would never be his number one.

I tried getting up on my feet, but my fatigue wouldn’t let me.

“Tch!” He mocked me before dragging me up. “Let’s go.”

“Theo, wait!” Gemma called.

She walked up to us, leaned in, and kissed Theo… on his lips.

I clenched my fists. They truly had no regard for me whatsoever. Or was this rehearsal again?

“Omg, look at her face!” Gemma covered her mouth with one hand. “A kiss like this is normal between us. Physical bonding is necessary for on-screen chemistry. You should stop looking like you want to explode. Theo please hurry before I lose a lot of bl00d and get infected.”

Theo dragged me outside.

“You are the worst husband ever,” I spat as he dragged me along.

“This worst husband is the one paying your bills!”

“And that’s why you think you can cheat on me? I am that worth1e$$ to you, right?”

“It is part of my job!”

“Including getting hard for your co-star?”

“Yes!” He opened the back door and ridiculously shoved me in. “That is how I’m able to get you pregnant, okay?” Then he slammed the door in my face.

I caught that disgust in his eyes one more time before he left, and this time it hurt far more than it had in the last hour. I started crying real tears there in the back seat.

Minutes later, two guys I had never seen in my life got into the front. Their presence came with a dizzying and staunch alcohol smell.

“Aye, it’s the killjoy he begged… us to drive home… haha…” the one in the driver’s seat slurred.

“Hey!” The one in the passenger seat shouted at me. “You better pray our precious Gem doesn’t get an infection from that injury, or I’ll personally make you pay for harming our angel.”

The two men didn’t even ask for my address. They just drove, music loud and windows down in the cold. The driver with an open can between his thighs kept missing gear changes and laughing about it.

In the backseat, I kept thinking about the car door. Not this one, but Theo’s.

The way Theo had opened it for me in the afternoon before everything else happened. The ghost of the man I married appeared for three seconds and then vanished again.

The first time he ever did something like that for me was at a terrible restaurant, early in our relationship. He pulled a chair out and gazed intently at me like he couldn’t believe I was really his.

He had only forty dollars to his name that week and he spent thirty-two of them on dinner. He was so nervous his hands wouldn’t stop moving.

That man didn’t exist anymore.

And the worst part was I didn’t know exactly when he had left.

Was it when the first audition callback came? When the director took him to dinner and told him an entertainment company had finally agreed to sponsor the film?

I had given him this, yet he shamed me in front of the world and made me kneel before his mistress.

He doesn’t deserve to hold this baby. That thought arrived quietly and I didn’t push it away. Whatever softness I had left for Theo died on that floor when he threw me.

The car swerved and I clutched my belly, remembering my current dilemma.

“Hey, please stop the car. This is my street,” I lied. I’d rather walk than spend another second with these people.

“Aye, don’t tell me what to do in my car, and in my city!” The driver yelled.

“Thank you for the ride but this is honestly my street,” I said in a panicked rush.

“I thought the last one was your street? Okay, we will turn for you,” the second man laughed.

The driver accelerated again.

“Slow down, I beg you!” But my pleas fell on deaf ears.

The passenger turned around, grinning sloppily.

“She is just as clingy… as Theo complains about…”

“She’s been nagging since she entered here, of course she is. No wonder he prefers Gemma. She’s hot and doesn’t nag—”

A beam of lights from a delivery truck came from nowhere, and in a second, our car was tumbling. One moment I was dangling over the seatbelt as the car spun, the next the seatbelt was pressing me tightly to the chair.

I felt pain everywhere in my body, and worse, I felt something trickling down my legs.

I woke up to bright hospital lights and the beep of machines.

A kind-faced nurse was adjusting my IV. I moved my hand, and before it even touched my belly, I knew. I already felt the emptiness.

“Ma’am,” she spoke gently, “you were in a car accident. We had to perform an emergency C-section. I’m so sorry… the baby didn’t make it. The trauma was too severe. We removed the remains already.”

I stared at the ceiling. No tears came. The grief and pain were there. I could feel the enormous shape of it, but it was nothing compared to the cold, burning rage settling deep in my chest.

My son was gone.

Because of Theo. And Gemma. And the way they had discarded me like I was nothing.

“I need to make a call,” I said.

She nodded and dialed the number I gave her.

“Hello?” A familiar female voice answered.

“This is Nurse Ellis calling from City Central Hospital on behalf of your wife, Harper Crane. She’s been in an accident and—”

The woman burst into laughter.

“Wife? I am the wife of the owner of this phone!” Gemma’s voice rang out, clearly amused, before she hung up.

I scoffed softly to myself. Of course.

I took the phone and dialed a different number. It rang twice.

“Jennings.” A calm voice answered.

“Axel?”

“Miss Crest?” His tone shifted into a surprised one. “Why are you calling from a different number?”

“My marriage is over,” I said with not a single regret. “I need you to come pick me up. And… you have a new contract to draft.”

“What kind of contract?”

I smirked to myself. “One that changes everything.”
