Rejected Three Years Ago, I Came Back as Luna Queen Chapter 09

I leaned in close. His pupils dilated in shock, and he stumbled back half a step, his throat bobbing.

“Tell me,” I challenged. “Are you going to break your mate contract with Emily and marry me?”

I couldn’t tell if the name “Emily” triggered his shame as a married man, or if “break the mate contract” struck

a raw nerve.

“Olivia, Emily is innocent,” he said, his voice strained. “Tell your father tonight that the marriage alliance is off. I’ll come visit you at your apartment.”

“As for the main estate, stay away for now. Emily’s health can’t take any stress.”

Even after three years, a dull ache throbbed in my chest.

I couldn’t tell whether it was the sting of betrayal or bitterness over how fiercely everyone protected Emily.

All I knew was that the man I had once loved like a moth to a flame was rotten to the core.

“Brandon, when you loved me back then, I didn’t realize when you fell for Emily either,” I said.

I pushed him aside effortlessly.

“You know love changes. So how can you be so sure I won’t fall for Vincent later?”

I pulled open the door.

“If you won’t leave, I will.”

He suddenly grabbed my wrist, his voice raspy. “Don’t rush into this.”

I pried his fingers off.

“Save your worry, Alpha. You’d better go comfort Emily.”

That evening, I moved out of the mansion.

I didn’t have much to pack. After three years away from home, the only useful things fit into the single

suitcase I had brought back from abroad.

Before Vincent arrived, my father tried to stop me.

“Dad,” I said, looking at him. “Or maybe I really should call you Alpha Theodore, considering I’ve genuinely doubted whether I’m actually your daughter.”

“The fifteen percent shares in Whitemoon Pack Group-make sure your daughter signs for them when the

time comes.”

My hand loosened on the suitcase handle. I searched his face for a shred of guilt, but found none.

In his dictionary sacrifice was all I was good for

her Alpha still had money why would he come after mine? I added coldly “Unfortunately for you the test

results show I really am yours

He looked as if his world had collapsed, shouting at me in disbelief.

“You took a DNA test

Headlights cut through the darkness outside. I grabbed my suitcase and walked past him.

It doesn’t matter anymore. I won’t hand over the agreement to her. If she wants it, tell her to ask her

husband

He tried to say something else, but I didn’t stop to listen.

Vincent loaded my suitcase into the trunk and opened the passenger door for me.

As I reached for the seatbelt, he suddenly leaned over. A crisp, sharp scent of pine invaded my senses.

He pulled the belt across and clicked it into place, pausing for a fraction of a second.

When he straightened up, he casually brushed a finger against the side of his nose-a gesture that looked suspiciously like someone wiping their mouth after a kiss.

Instinctively, I glanced up at the second-floor balcony.

A tall figure stood there in the shadows.

Amused, I looked back at Vincent, who was desperately trying to act natural.

“I didn’t realize Alpha Grayson could be so childish,’ I teased.

He let out a soft huff, attempting to look aloof.

I couldn’t help reaching out to pat his head.

His entire body went rigid.

“Drive, Mr. Grayson,” I said with a smile.

As the engine roared to life, a quiet answer caught in the wind.

“Yes, ma’am.

Settling into the new apartment was fast.

He didn’t dare linger long. Claiming it was late, he headed downstairs with a stoic face, though his steps

were agonizingly slow, taking one step where he should have taken three.

Suppressing a smile, I pretended not to notice and closed the door.

Once downstairs, he stood by his car, staring up at my window for a long time.

Hidden behind the curtain, I reached out a hand and gave him a small wave.

Moments later, the engine hummed again.

My phone buzzed with a text:

See you tomorrow, Olivia.

I typed back:

See you tomorrow.
