Zephyr’s words struck fear into Orion and Isadora. After a 

quick glance at each other, they picked up the box and rushed 

back to the hall. 

The guests who witnessed the scene immediately began to 

murmur. 

“What’s going on? They just finished the ceremony, and now it’s cancelled? Alpha Zephyr is backing out?” 

“Don’t you know? Alpha Zephyr was sent to a cave in the wilderness after he went blind. He met a girl there and spent a 

lot of effort finding her.” 

“Looks like someone was impersonating her, and the truth 

came out today. Why else would he cancel the Mating Ceremony on the day itself? That’s insane.” 

“Wow. Serves her right for pretending to be someone else. Humiliated in front of everyone like that. The Ravencrest Pack should be ashamed, raising a daughter like that!” 

Though their voices weren’t loud, Selene heard every word 

clearly. 

She dug her nails into her palms until they bled. 

Isadora, who had rushed over, was frantic. She immediately 

blocked the cameras and helped Selene to the back. 

“Selene, did you say something wrong? How did Zephyr find 

out so suddenly?” Isadora’s face was grim. 

“I didn’t! I didn’t say anything. It must be Nova. She must 

have done something! Zephyr wouldn’t have found out 

otherwise!” 

“Nova just can’t stand to see me happy. She made me a laughingstock! Mom, Dad, you have to punish her severely!” 

Selene sobbed. 

Seeing her daughter so upset, Isadora’s heart ached. “Okay, okay. Mom promises, we’ll punish Nova. How could she do 

this to her own sister?” 

Orion chimed in, “That’s right. Your mother and I have always doted on you the most. Don’t worry, we’ll get you justice 

today.” 

“That’s more like it. But what about Zephyr? He must know 

I’m not her now.” 

A flash of hatred crossed Selene’s eyes. 

“Don’t worry about Zephyr. We’ll talk to him. If that doesn’t 

work, we’ll go directly to the Mooncrest Pack. The Ravencrest Pack has its pride too. This ceremony must happen.” Isadora 

tried to soothe her. 

“I knew it! You’re the best, Mom!” Selene threw herself into Isadora’s arms, whining. 

Suddenly, she noticed a box in Orion’s hand. It looked familiar. 

It looked like the gift Nova gave Zephyr as a wedding present. 

But she remembered making sure Zephyr’s beta threw it away when they got out of the car. 

Why was it here? 

“What’s that?” 

Selene grabbed it and opened it. Inside was a single sheet of 

paper. 

At the top were a few large words. Emancipation Papers.
