Rejected by My Destined Mate, Now He Craves Me Chapter 06

I rested in the healer’s den for two days. My wounds slowly began to scab over. 

During those two days, Selene texted me every day. 

[Mom and Dad agreed. They’re turning your room into a 

nursery for Zephyr’s and my pup. When are you moving your stuff out?] 

[Zephyr went wedding dress shopping with me today. He bought all the ones I liked. My feet hurt from trying on shoes, and he even massaged them for me.] 

The photos showed Zephyr looking at her with a tenderness 

that stung my eyes. 

I didn’t reply to a single one. 

After being discharged, I went back to the pack house and started packing immediately. 

I kept my documents and essentials and threw everything else 

away until nothing was left. 

The housekeeper, seeing this, carefully reminded me. 

“Miss Nova, Miss Selene said you could move to the basement. 

There’s still space. You don’t have to throw everything 

away…” 

I looked at my empty room, my voice flat. “No need. None of 

these matters anymore. I’m leaving the Ravencrest Pack. I’m not coming back.” 

The housekeeper froze. “You’re… not coming back?” 

Before he could finish, Zephyr pushed the door open and walked in. “Who’s not coming back?” 

The housekeeper started to answer, but Selene came out of the 

bedroom, her voice whiny. “Why are you here so early? I haven’t finished my makeup yet.” 

Zephyr ignored everyone else, walked over to her, and gently booped her nose. “Take your time. I’ll wait.” 

Talking and laughing, they went into the bedroom and closed 

the door. 

I looked away, snapped the last suitcase shut. 

Zephyr spent the entire day with Selene. 

He made her breakfast, feeding her spoonful by spoonful. 

He watched a movie with her, explaining the plot details. 

He kissed her on the balcony, letting her smudge her lipstick 

on his collar. 

He never once looked at me. 

Servants whispered as they passed by. 

“Selene and Zephyr are a perfect match, and they’re this clingy even before marking.” 

“Selene is so lucky. She’ll be even more spoiled once she marries him.” 

“Ah, poor Nova though. Ignored since she was little, and the one person she falls for ends up being her brother–in–law…” 

I stood behind the door, hearing every word clearly. 

I used to ask myself why, over and over. 

But after nearly dying that time, I understood. 

If I had to fight for it, it was never mine to begin with. 

Not family. And not love. 

So I stopped waiting. 

I just wanted to leave the Ravencrest Pack and get away clean. 

At dinner, Selene announced she’d booked a private room at a restaurant. Before I could refuse, she dragged me into the back 

seat of the car. 

On the way, she and Zephyr chatted about the Mating 

Ceremony and the future. I didn’t exist. 

“Zephyr, let’s go to Frostmere for our honeymoon! I want to 

see the northern lights and take tons of pictures.” 

“Okay. I’ll have a photography team arranged to capture every moment of you.” 

“When we have pups, we can look at the photo album together, okay?” 

“Of course.” 

They talked so naturally, as if their future was already set. 

I kept staring out the window, silent. 

The night before Zephyr’s sight–restoring surgery, I had a dream. 

In the dream, when he opened his eyes, the first person he saw 

was me. 

He would stay with me, choose me, belong only to me. 

He would propose, hold a Mating Ceremony with me, start a 

real family. 

But the dream ended. 

The car suddenly braked hard. 

A runaway sports car was speeding towards us. 

The crash echoed. Our car slammed into a bridge pillar. 

I was jolted violently, blood streaming down my forehead 

from a gash. 

Looking up, Zephyr was already carrying Selene out of the car. 

He didn’t glance my way. 

The car began to catch fire. 

Gritting my teeth, I dragged myself out of the mangled door, leaving a trail of blood with every step. 

I had only moved a few feet away when the explosion came 

from behind. 

Flames engulfed the car’s frame. 

I collapsed on the ground, my ears ringing. 

If I had been even a second slower, I would have died. 

In those five minutes, Zephyr never once looked back. 

He only made sure Selene was safe. 

When the ambulance arrived, the nurse said urgently, “Nova is more severely injured. She’s lost a lot of blood and is going into shock. Alpha Zephyr, we recommend you prioritize sending her into surgery. She might not make it otherwise!” 

“I don’t care what happens to Nova. Selene is injured too. You 

have to save her first!” Zephyr cut her off directly. “Save Selene first. Her safety is all I care about.” 

Orion and Isadora arrived too. Their first words were also 

about Selene. 

“Yes, we are their family. If something happens to Nova, we won’t hold you responsible! Don’t worry about Nova for now. Selene’s safety is what matters most!” 

I listened to their words, my consciousness fading. 

Whether in life or death, I would never be the one they chose. 

That familiar, overwhelming sense of helplessness and panic washed over me again…
