Reborn: Getting Back My Real Son Chapter 06

Nate gave Axel’s shoulder a satisfied pat. “Talking big isn’t enough. Starting tomorrow, I’m watching you. We’re doubling your study load.”

I smacked Nate lightly on the back of the head.

“Don’t put too much pressure on Axel.”

Even so, it wasn’t that I doubted Axel’s abilities. I had tutored him myself-I knew exactly where he stood. He was gifted and willing to work hard. Given time, I didn’t know whether he would become a prodigy among his peers, but he certainly wouldn’t turn out poorly.

I just didn’t want him pushed too far.

That night, after finishing my skincare routine and preparing to rest, the doorbell suddenly went off like it had lost its mind.

The moment I opened the door, a figure lunged forward and wrapped himself around my leg.

“Mom!”

Phillip’s eyes darted rapidly, his expression full of eager flattery-completely different from the arrogant boy I saw at the mall earlier.

The abrupt shift made my brows knit together. I tried pulling him off me.

“What are you doing? Stop calling me ‘Mom.’ Your mother is Judy.”

His reaction was instant.

“Mom, don’t say that. You told me-no matter what happens, I’ll always be your baby. You said if I ever felt wronged, I could come to you. Did you forget?”

I froze.

Those were indeed words I had once said—just not in this lifetime. They belonged to the past one.

So Phillip had been reborn too.

Seeing me caught off guard, his confidence grew.

“Mom, the moment my memory came back, I rushed here. I can’t stand that house anymore. This place is way better.”

He strutted past me, flopping onto the expensive sofa as if he owned it. Then he casually picked up the phone lying beside him and twirled it in his hand.

“Mom, I’ve wanted a new phone forever. Buy me one, okay? That stingy family never gets me anything. They wouldn’t even upgrade my phone. It’s ridiculous.”

I stared at him, speechless. Did he still think he was my pampered “son” from his last life?

Axel and Nate stepped out in their pajamas. When they saw Phillip lounging comfortably in our living room, both of them froze in confusion.

“What’s going on?” Nate asked.

Before I could explain, Phillip jumped in.

“Dad, you don’t remember me? I’m your son, Phillip!”

Axel bristled immediately.

“What nonsense are you talking about? This is my dad and my mom. Not yours.”

Nate just stared, baffled.

“Is he out of his mind?”

It turned out that after returning home earlier, Phillip had awakened his past-life memories as well.

Having lived twenty-plus years in luxury in that lifetime, how could he possibly tolerate the cramped, penny- pinching life with Judy now?

The moment his memory came back, he’d slipped out of the house, demanded my address from my parents, and run straight here.

But his little fantasy didn’t last long.

Woken from his sleep and in no mood for nonsense, Nate’s temper flared. Without waiting for any explanation, he grabbed Phillip with one hand and lifted him clean off the ground.
