Proposed to Him with a Deed but He Already Had a Child Chapter 04

I was the one who had been kept in the dark for six years. I was the one who had lost ten years of my life to a lie, yet now the entire internet was calling me a homewrecker.

Why the hell should I apologize?

“The post you made has caused Sabrina serious emotional distress. She’s already preparing to sue you.”

“If you refuse to apologize, even I won’t be able to protect you!”

I closed my eyes for a moment. “Fine. I’ll apologize.”

The moment I went live, viewers flooded in to curse me out.

I gave a tight smile. “I’m sorry. I apologize for refusing to keep quiet and swallow the humiliation.”

“I should have calmly accepted that my boyfriend of ten years had become someone else’s husband. So what if he’d been cheating on me? I should’ve just smiled and taken it.”

Ethan quickly ended the livestream.

But #SabrinaCaldwellWasTheOtherWoman# was already trending.

Ethan let out a furious laugh. “You’re going to regret this, Nora.”

A chill suddenly raced down my spine.

Just then, my mother’s private aide video-called me. The instant I answered, her panicked voice burst

through the phone.

“Ms. Blake, a group of people just crowded around your mother’s bed. They said she deserved to have cancer

and wished her a horrible death!”

“She couldn’t take the abuse. She jumped out the window!”

I could hear people screaming behind her, along with the pounding footsteps of nurses dishing through the

hallway.

All those sounds poured into my ears, but my mind refused to process them.

Ethan spoke coldly. “Your mother jumped from the third floor, but she’s still alive. The private medical team my family hired is nearby.”

I scrambled over to Sabrina and dropped to my knees in front of her as everyone watched. Then I struck my forehead against the tile again and again.

“I’m sorry, Ms. Caldwell. I was wrong. Please spare my mother.”

One of Sabrina’s assistants immediately started another livestream. With blood running down my face, I apologized in front of the camera.

Every hateful comment felt like another blade cutting into what was left of my heart.

Ethan’s expression softened slightly. He ordered someone to check on my mother, then stepped outside to take a call.

As soon as he was gone, Megan emerged from the shadows.

Sabrina looked at her. “Did all the doctors and nurses leave?”

Megan nodded.

At first, I did not understand what she meant.

Then my mother’s aide called again.

“Ms. Blake, some doctors and nurses came rushing downstairs, but then they suddenly left. I don’t know

why. Your mother-she isn’t breathing anymore…””

A deafening hum filled my head.

I stared at the two women in disbelief. “You did this…”

Megan helped me to my feet and wiped the blood from my face.

“Nora, don’t be too upset, Your mother had been sick for a long time, and none of the treatments were working. Isn’t it better that she doesn’t have to suffer anymore?”

They had deliberately taken my mother’s life, yet they stood there claiming they had done me a favor.

How could anyone be so shameless?

Despair and rage surged through me until I lost all reason. I grabbed the paring knife from the table and lunged at them.

At that moment, the hospital room door burst open.

“Nora! Have you lost your mind?”

Ethan rushed between us, shielding Sabrina with his body like a wall.

Just before the knife could plunge into Ethan, someone violently twisted my wrist.

The blade that had been aimed at someone else turned toward me and drove deep into my chest.

Hot blood sprayed across Ethan’s stunned face.

His expression instantly changed to panic and terror. He shoved Sabrina aside and lunged toward me.

“Nora!”
