One Hundred Rules to Tame My Impossible Billionaire Boss Chapter 07

One Hundred Rules to Tame My Impossible Billionaire Boss Chapter 07

To make Miles more obedient, I agreed to meet his friends in a week.

In public, I played the sweet, quiet girl who was totally into him.

Privately? Miles got deleted three times a day on average.

He got pissed at me, then calmed himself down again and again. Because I knew everything about him—what he liked, what he hated, every little thing.

Miles figured there was no way I’d know him that well unless I was crazy about him. He was hanging with his friends when his phone buzzed.

He checked it nervously, saw the contact wasn’t “Baby,” and relaxed. She’s got such a temper now, I’m sure he thought.

One minute without a reply and I’d delete him.

And every time he had to add me back, it took longer.

Last night I wouldn’t even let him bring dinner. He was so mad! But he didn’t dare stop sending food.

Rule said when I’m mad, he has to make it up to me.

Everyone said it was just because girls felt insecure. Because girls loved their boyfriends too much.

He’d texted me an hour ago. No reply.

What did he do this time?

He racked his brain. Nothing.

Last time I got mad, I had a nightmare at 2 AM and he was asleep. Didn’t pick up.

He sent more texts. [What are you doing?]

[What do you want for dinner tonight, and what time? Eat out or bring to dorm? I picked a few places, tell me.]

[Heads up, a friend’s birthday. They want me to go to Speedway Club.]

[It’s a guy friend. Your roommate’s cousin, Chase Donovan.]

He sent the last line and immediately unsent it, leaving just the first part.

Because he remembered—I didn’t let him mention women.

Close call.

Almost got deleted again.

Miles kept glancing at his phone. I hadn’t texted in three hours. Felt weird.

Chase said, “Miles, you coming to race?”

Miles gritted his teeth. “No. I’m with my girlfriend tonight.”

Blair snorted. “She’s that clingy? Didn’t know you liked that type.”

Another guy joked, “Too sweet gets boring.”

“Date her for fun before you get serious. When it comes to marriage, you want someone like Blair. She knows where the line is.”

Blair’s boyfriend spoke up. “I just got my racing license. Want to go against Miles.”

“Unless he’s scared of crashing and making up excuses.”

The room went quiet.

Miles drove aggressively. And he couldn’t resist a challenge.

Last time someone cut him off, he flipped their car into the hospital.

Blair shot Chase a look. “Don’t take it too far.”

Chase grinned. “What’s wrong, Blair? Worried about Miles or your little boyfriend?”

Blair didn’t answer.

Which was as good as a yes.

Everyone looked at Miles. In terms of family and looks, he and Blair were the perfect match. He’d chased her hard for months.

Everyone there knew it. So nobody took his new girlfriend seriously.

Bullet comments sighed, [He’s gonna race for her tonight. Anyone can see who he really likes.]

[Poor side character. Tomorrow she’ll watch Miles kiss Blair for a whole minute before he confesses.]

[I’d lose it too.]

I scanned the comments, my expression cold.

I texted Miles, [I’m sorry.]

[I wasn’t ignoring you. I have a fever. My head hurts. If you want to break up… just tell me. Don’t lie.]

After sending those pity texts, I turned off my phone.

No fever. Just messing with him.

Miles’s face changed. Something was wrong. Why was Iris suddenly apologizing?

He shot a warning look around. “Iris has a fever. I’m out.”

“Anyone who leaks that bet… you’ll answer to me.”

Blair went pale.

His last warning was aimed at her.

Chase sensed the shift. “Uh, it’s late. We’re meeting tomorrow anyway. Let’s call it.”

As he walked Miles out, Chase said abruptly, “Blair’s family is talking about an arranged engagement with the Thornton family. A lot of guys are after her. Don’t screw this up.”

He dropped his voice. “Or are you actually falling for some girl whose family and looks don’t even come close to Blair’s? It was just a bet. Date a girl like that? Everyone in our circle will laugh at you.”

Miles paused for half a second.

Didn’t look back.

“Just keep your mouths shut.”

The car door slammed.

Even if Iris hadn’t texted, he wasn’t about to race.

He realized—after being pissed off by Iris every single day, hearing those guys provoke him didn’t even phase him anymore.

Chase went back inside and signaled Blair. “Tomorrow at the party, I’ll set up Truth or Dare. Just admit you were using those guys to make him jealous. If you keep stringing him along, he’s gonna be gone for good.”
