Once My Only, Now Just a Memory Chapter 19

Once My Only, Now Just a Memory Chapter 19

“I was wrong.”

“I will never interfere with your life like that again.”

I put my phone face down on the counter.

Later that afternoon, a large delivery arrived at the bakery. It was an assortment of vanilla pastries.

The note read: “For Flora.””

I handed the entire delivery to the children playing outside the shop.

The Flora who loved sweet treats, pretty dresses, and flowers had died five years ago.

When I returned to my tiny rehtal apartment that evening, I turned on the lights to find Cillian sitting in my

small living room.

“How did you get in here?”

He looked around the cramped space.

“You live here? Come back with me. I will give you anything you want.”

I let out a bitter laugh. “Really? Will you give me your company?”

Cillian’s eyes lit up.

“You want it? I will call my lawyers right now. I can transfer the majority of Wrenford Holdings’ shares to you tonight.”

I stood there, speechless.
