Once My Only, Now Just a Memory Chapter 03

Gillian’s face darkened instantly.

“Stop being ridiculous. I told you, you will always be my Luna.”

“What more do you want? If you keep pushing this, you will end up with nothing.”

I stared at him, feeling momentarily detached from reality.

Only a few years ago, this same man had held me close and whispered sweet promises.

“Flora, I will love you forever. You are my Mate, the most important person in my life.”

When did everything start to change?

It began when Brielle was brought into Wrenford Holdings.

At first, Cillian had assured me, “The Ashcombe and Wrenford families have been allies for generations. My

grandfather insisted on giving her a position at the company. I won’t even look at her.”

Later, he said, “Brielle is actually very capable. She has been a great help to me.”

And then came the day I walked into our bedroom and found them in our bed.

That was the bed we had slept in every ng Auto-added to the Library

Cillian had sat on the edge of the mattress, rubbing his temples with frustration. But his very first instinct

was to pull the sheet up to cover Brielle’s bare shoulders.

“Flora, I drank too much. It was an accident. Everyone makes mistakes.”

“Forgive me just this once, please?”

Inside me, my wolf let out a agonizing howl.

The sheer pain of the Mate betrayal felt like my heart was being torn apart piece by piece.

Before I could even speak, my phone rang. It was the hospital.

Lumi had collapsed. The tests revealed a rare, aggressive bone marrow disorder. Not even our werewolf healing could repair the damage.

Every blood relative in the Wrenford Pack was tested. Only Cillian was a compatible donor.

I could walk away from a cheating husband, but I could not gamble with my daughter’s life.

So, I stayed.

But Cillian and Brielle only grew closer after that.

He even allowed her to attend official Pack events acting as the Luna.

That was the first time seriously demanded we sever the Mate Bond

Cillian refused to take me seriously.

“Calm down,” he muttered, before getting into his car and driving away.

With no other choice, I began the long walk up the mountain road toward the hospital, stopping along the way to pick up the birthday cake I had ordered for Lumi.

Cillian was too busy comforting Brielle. He had completely forgotten his daughter’s birthday.

It didn’t matter. I remembered.

But the moment I pushed the ward door open, I froze.

Brielle was standing by the bed, her hands wrapped tightly around Lumi’s tiny ankles, shaking her body

back and forth.

Lumi was so weak she could barely breathe. She was crying, gasping out, “Mommy… Mommy, help me…”

My mind went blank with rage.

I rushed forward, snatched Lumi away, and slapped Brielle across the face with all my strength.

“Get your hands off my pup!”

Brielle stumbled back, but she didn’t strike back.

Instead, her eyes welled with tears as she looked past my shoulder. “Cillian…”

I turned around. Alpha Cillian was standing in the doorway.

His face was terrifyingly cold.
