On My Wedding Day, I Married Someone Else Chapter 11

Derek tore down Oak Street in his pickup. Like a maniac. Next morning.

Ethan and I were walking out the door. Heading to the airport. Honeymoon.

Derek’s eyes were bloodshot. Clothes disheveled. A cornered, enraged animal. He saw me step off the porch and lunged. His hand clamped around my wrist.

“Why?! All this over one shitty house? Pile of wood and bricks? You’d throw away three years—us—for that?”

I looked at him. My wrist hurt from his grip. I didn’t pull away.

“Yes. And no.”

The problem between us. It was never about a house. The house was just the last straw.

Derek jabbed a finger at Ethan. The tall, quiet man beside me. His voice twisted with jealousy and rage.

“What can he give you? A cop living off disability pay! We had three years! Even if you’re mad, even if you want to hurt me—you can’t just grab some random guy to throw in my face!”

I watched him. This man about to lose his mind. Spitting venom.

“We’ve known each other ten years. Since I was sixteen. He’s not random.”

Derek stumbled back. Like all the strength had been ripped out of him. Nearly tripped on the porch steps.

“So… you two were together before? Before we got together? You cheated on me! Savannah, you liar!”

I almost laughed. Truly. He was always like this. Never looked inward. Always the victim.

“Didn’t you say Tiffany needed company? She’s waiting for you at the hotel. Don’t keep her waiting. You’ll feel bad.”
