“Audrey would never do something so disgusting. Unlike you.”

Elijah’s hand closed around her throat.

“Cough—let go—I can’t breathe—”

“Can’t breathe? I should kill you. You went behind my back and hurt Audrey in my name. You deserve to die.”

His grip tightened.

“Don’t—Elijah—think about the past few days. You felt something for me. I know you did.”

“You’re right. I felt nothing. I just wanted a woman to play with. You were convenient. Understand?”

“No—no, that’s not—”

Tears poured down her face. She saw the real fury in his eyes and changed her tone.

“Elijah, if you don’t want me, just let me go. I swear I’ll never bother you again. I’ll stay away from you and Luna Audrey forever.”

“I offered to let you go earlier. But you wanted the jewelry. Now it’s too late.”

He shoved her.

She hit the half-empty coffee table and looked up at him in despair.

“Elijah, what do you want? I said I was sorry. I’ll apologize to Audrey.”

“I told you. It’s too late.”

He looked at the two servants cowering in the soldiers’ grip.

“She ordered you?”

“Yes, Alpha. Please—we were just trying to make a living. She only paid us five hundred dollars. We’ll give it back.”

“Keep your money.”

Elijah turned back to Kelly. His voice came from somewhere cold and dark.

“You beat Audrey. Now they beat you. No—harder. Much harder. Understand?”

“No.”

Kelly shook, tears streaming. “Elijah, please—I’m begging you. Don’t do this. I was wrong. I’ll never do it again.”

She crawled to him and grabbed his legs.

He kicked her away.

“Do it. If I see anyone holding back, you’ll answer to me.”

He walked out without looking back.

Behind him, Kelly started to scream.

“Audrey. I will find you. I will make you forgive me.”

She had nowhere else to go. Her parents had cut her off years ago.

She had to be with them.

Elijah got in his car and drove straight to Moon Shadow territory.
