Kelly’s whole body went cold.

That bitch Audrey had recorded everything.

When? How had she not noticed?

“No—that’s not how it happened. Elijah, let me explain.”

Elijah nodded, his voice flat. “Go ahead.”

Kelly opened her mouth.

Nothing came out.

Finally, she raised her voice. “Elijah, you have to believe me! The video doesn’t show everything. Audrey slapped me first. I was just defending myself.”

“You’re still lying.”

The disappointment in his voice was worse than the anger.

“Get out.”

“What?” Kelly’s eyes went wide. “You’re throwing me out over this?”

“A woman like you doesn’t belong at my side.”

His words gutted her.

She laughed bitterly. “A woman like me? Elijah, I never laid a hand on Audrey. The only person I hurt was myself. But her face? Those cuts

came from your own hand. If I don’t deserve to be here, neither do you.”

He slapped her.

She tasted blood.

“Shut your mouth.”

She glared at him through the tears. “How dare you hit me? Don’t forget—you came after me first. You said I was innocent. Pure. You promised me the world. Now you’re blaming me for everything? Don’t make me lose all respect for you.”

She turned and started gathering her things.

“Fine. I’m not some desperate woman. We’ll part ways. But these gifts? You gave them to me. I earned them in your bed. I’m taking every last one.”

She grabbed what she could carry. When she couldn’t carry more, she snapped at the servants.

“What are you standing there for? Help me!”

No one moved. They just stared at her cold.

She was about to call for help when soldiers pushed two women through the front door.

Kelly’s phone slipped from her hand.

The two women saw her and started begging. “Miss Kelly, help us!

We were just following your orders!”

Kelly turned white. She forgot the gifts. She tried to run.

The soldiers blocked her path.

“Going somewhere, Miss Kelly? We need you to have a word with these two.”

“I don’t know them. I’ve never seen them before.”

She was shaking. Sweating.

“I have to go. Keep the gifts.”

“Miss Kelly, you can’t abandon us! You told us to whip that woman ninety-nine times! You said it was the Alpha’s order! If it was his order, why are we being dragged in here?”

“Shut up!”

Kelly whipped around to look at Elijah.

“It’s not true. Audrey set this up—she hired them to act, just to get you back. You have to believe me.”
