My Wife Threw Me into a Pit of Leeches for Her Assistant Chapter 06

My Wife Threw Me into a Pit of Leeches for Her Assistant Chapter 06 I’m Leaving

That night, everything changed for the Wilde family.

Feodora’s phone slipped from her hand and hit the floor, the screen splintering into a web of

cracks.

She stood there frozen, her assistant’s trembling voice still echoing in her ears.

Eight hundred million dollars in funding had dried up, partners were pulling out, the banks were calling in their loans, and the Wildes’ house was surrounded.

Emerson clutched the bandage on his forehead, his face pale as paper.

“Feodora, what the hell is going on? Say something!”

She didn’t answer.

She’d always thought I was just a man she could twist around her finger-someone who’d never leave her.

Now she knew. I’d finally given up on her. I wasn’t coming back-not ever. I was even ready to make her pay with her life.

“Let’s go.” She yanked Emerson along. “Right now.”

“Where are we going?”

“Run. Now.”

She dragged Emerson out the door, her heels pounding against the hallway floor.

Behind them, the servants exchanged confused looks. No one had any idea what was happening.

Their car had barely left the villa complex when three black sedans bearing Brooks family plates came straight at them.

Feodora wrenched the wheel. The car slammed into a roadside tree, and the airbags deployed, leaving her vision swimming. She ignored the pain, yanked Emerson out of the car, and bolted into the alley.

Footsteps echoed behind them, closing in fast.

The alley was long and narrow, lined with overflowing dumpsters on both sides. The stench was so foul it made their eyes water.

Feodora grabbed Emerson and sprinted, one of her heels already lost somewhere along the

way.

Broken glass shredded her stockings, leaving the soles of her feet bloody and raw.

She ignored the pain. All she knew was that she had to keep running.

The footsteps behind them kept getting closer, like death was closing in.

“I can’t… I can’t do this anymore…” Emerson clutched his forehead, the gauze soaked through with blood, his face pale as paper. “Feodora, I can’t run anymore.”

She looked back. He staggered against the wall, gasping for breath.

Then a thought hit her out of nowhere.

What if Emerson wasn’t in the picture?

What if I’d never had this useless piece of shit in my life? Would I still be living happily with Chester?

That man used to bring me late-night snacks when I worked overtime. He’d make me something warm to drink and take care of me whenever I had my period. He’d never argue when I was upset. He’d just quietly coax me back into a good mood…

Feodora suddenly pulled free of Emerson’s grip. “Then stop running.”

Emerson froze. “What?”

“I said-” She took a step back, her eyes going cold. “Figure it out yourself. I’m leaving.”
