My Son’s Bully Was His Old Flame’s Son Chapter 07

My Son’s Bully Was His Old Flame’s Son Chapter 07

The court of public opinion had rendered its verdict long before the bailiffs moved.

“Joseph, get off the bench! You’re not fit to be a judge! Not fit at all!”

“Julia is disgusting! Destroying someone else’s family while pretending to be pitiful—look at her now!”

“He needs to be punished. People like him should be stripped of his position and thrown in jail!”

Julia finally cracked. She shot up from her chair like a woman possessed.

“Fake! All of this is fake! You fabricated the evidence! You’re framing us just to win the case! There’s nothing between Joseph and me! Stop slandering us!”

Joseph snapped back to his senses and jumped in immediately.

“Yes, Sierra forged everything! The evidence is fake! Don’t believe her!”

At that moment, the doors of the courtroom burst open. Several officials in uniforms from the Agents from the Office of Public Integrity entered, their presence casting a cold shadow over the proceedings.

They walked straight toward Joseph. The lead investigator flashed his badge and spoke in a cold, unyielding voice.

“Joseph Sterling, we received a formal report.”

“You are suspected of abusing your authority, using your position for personal gain, and shielding individuals who harmed a minor. You are required to come with us for investigation.”

Joseph’s knees buckled. He almost collapsed on the spot. A bailiff rushed to steady him. He tried to explain, to protest, to defend himself, but the investigators didn’t care.

They pulled out handcuffs and snapped them around his wrists. The cold bite of the steel against his wrists was the first thing Joseph had truly felt in a decade.

He stared down at the cuffs in disbelief, his eyes hollow. “I didn’t… this is slander… impossible… I didn’t do anything wrong…”

“The trial is temporarily adjourned. A new hearing date will be announced.” With that, the investigators escorted him toward the exit.

When he passed me, Joseph stopped. He looked at me with a tangled, unreadable mix of anger, resentment, and something else I couldn’t name.

He opened his mouth, as if wanting to say something.

But nothing came out. He only moved his lips before being dragged away.

It didn’t take long for the news of his suspension and investigation to explode across the internet. All the reputation he had built for years were gone overnight.

Netizens dug up his high school scandal with Julia. They uncovered evidence of how he had secretly benefited her for years, using his power behind the scenes.

Their names shot to the top of the trending list, accompanied by tens of thousands of furious comments.

A week later, the trial resumed. This time, without Joseph shielding her, without obstruction or interference, all the evidence was presented clearly.

Justice, though delayed by ego and shadow, finally found its way into the light. Trent was sentenced to a juvenile correction facility for rehabilitative education.

As for Julia, she not only lost her position as the judge’s assistant, but was also fined for perjury and creating doctored videos to frame others. Her reputation collapsed completely.

Wherever she went, people pointed and whispered. Some even sent her death threats, calling her a homewrecker, a poisonous woman.

Cornered with nowhere else to run, she came to find me. She blocked me at the entrance of the community and fell to her knees with a thud, sobbing as if her heart were breaking.

“Mrs. Sterling, I’m sorry! I really know I was wrong! Please forgive me! Please talk to the judge, help Trent get out! He’s still a child… he can’t survive in juvenile detention!”

I stared down at her coldly, my voice flat, emotionless.

“If you want someone to beg, go to the jail and find Joseph. He’s the one who spoiled you into thinking you could do anything. He’s the one who ignored his own son for your sake.”

“He’s the one who owes you, not me.”

With that, I walked past her into the community gate, shutting out her pleading and her sobs completely.
