My Sister Wants Me to Bear Her Children? Now Watch That Curse Backfire—Sis! Chapter 03

For the next few months, I desperately searched for a way to break the curse.

I went to Taoist priests. Buddhist monks, and spiritual healers…

But nothing stopped me from getting fatter and fatter.

When the morning sickness ended, I began eating uncontrollably-five or six meals a day and still hungry.

I used to hate sweet, rich desserts, but now I keep them by my bed to eat anytime.

I had to wear oversized clothes to hide my growing belly.

My coworkers whispered behind my back, and my boss called me in for a talk.

He hinted that if I was pregnant, I should resign-they didn’t hire dead weight.

I insisted I wasn’t pregnant.

I couldn’t repeat my past mistake: quitting my job and letting Xavier control me completely.

After leaving the boss’s office, I heard HR and my coworkers chatting in the break room.

“Maya said she had no pregnancy plans for two years when we hired her. Now her belly’s huge after only a few months. I got in trouble because of her-so annoying.”

“Look how ugly she’s gotten, her nose is so big. Probably having a boy. She still won’t admit it. How will she keep working when she gives

birth?”

I couldn’t defend myself and held back my tears.

When I got home from work, I saw Chloe was already there, brought over by Xavier again.

The dining table was full of dishes.

Chloe held her chopsticks and pouted.

“Brother-in-law, you served me so much. How can I finish it all?” Xavier smiled gently.

“Eat more. You’re eating for two now.”

Chloe waved at me.

“Sister, you’re home! Come on, Brother-in-law specially made a seafood feast. Join us!”

Her tone was so natural, anyone would think this was her house and she was the wife.

When Xavier saw me, his smile vanished immediately.

“Look how fat she’s gotten. She doesn’t need to eat.”

“Chloe is pregnant and still so beautiful.” I don’t understand how two sisters could be so different.”

“She even said you cursed her and made her take your pregnancy damage. She’s completely insane.”

My heart skipped a beat.

How could he say that out loud?

Chloe covered her mouth and giggled.

“Brother-in-law, stop it. I really should thank Sister. If it weren’t for her.. I wouldn’t have such an easy pregnancy.”

The provocation in her eyes was obvious.

Her face was filled with malice.

“Now that I’m pregnant, I realize having babies is so easy. I’m planning to have a whole soccer team…”

Xavier clicked his tongue.

“Chloe, stop making excuses for her. I really regret it now. Back then, I…”

The memory of my past-life death by hemorrhage flashed in my mind.

The anger I’d held back for so long finally destroyed my last bit of self-control.

I flipped the entire dining table over!

NO ONE WAS GOING TO EAT!

Plates and bowls shattered everywhere.

Chloe screamed and jumped up to avoid them.

I grabbed her by the collar and shook her violently.

“What did you do to me? Why do you get pregnant, but I’m the one who gets fat? Why do I die from bleeding out for you?!”

Chloe struggled in panic.

“Sister, what are you talking about? I don’t understand! You’ve lost your mind!”

I grabbed a sharp piece of broken plate and held it to her neck.

“Tell me the truth, or I’ll kill you!”

The shard was almost cutting her skin. I was about to press harder when someone kicked me away.

Xavier kicked me into the broken porcelain without mercy.

My arms and legs were instantly covered in cuts, and the pain made me sweat all over.

“Crazy bitch! If you hurt Chloe, you’ll regret it!”

Chloe held her stomach and moaned softly. “Brother-in-law, my stomach hurts. Is the baby okay? I’m so scared.”

“Don’t worry. I’ll take you to the hospital right now.”

Xavier carefully helped her around the broken glass.

“I’m taking Chloe to the hospital. You stay home and think about what you’ve done!”

“Clean up this mess. If the house still looks like this when I get back, don’t blame me for divorcing you!”

Bang! He slammed the door.

I struggled to stand up, went to the bedroom, and got the first-aid kit to clean my wounds.

Sitting at the desk, I put iodine on my arms.

The physical pain was nothing compared to the pain in my heart.

Tears fell without warning.

In my past life, I thought I had a strange disease that kept me from conceiving. I felt guilty toward Xavier and gave in to him again and again.

But it was never my fault.

In this life, I wouldn’t hold back anymore.

I would uncover the truth-and divorce Xavier!

A sweet smell drifted over.

It was the chocolate lava cake I’d left on the table.

I picked it up automatically, wanting to comfort myself.

But the next second, the sticky cake melted in my mouth-so sweet it was bitter.

I froze.

What is wrong?

After the morning sickness, this cake had been my favorite. I could eat three or four and never think it was too sweet.

But now, my body felt like it had returned to normal-no longer suffering Chloe’s pregnancy symptoms.

A moment I’d ignored earlier flashed through my mind.

I suddenly understood.

I jumped up in excitement.

Huh. Finally, I knew how it all worked!
