My Roommate Stole My Past-Life Hack—I’ll Just Smile at Her Regret Chapter 02

My Roommate Stole My Past-Life Hack—I’ll Just Smile at Her Regret Chapter 02

It was the fall semester of junior year, and finals were just around the corner.

My roommates were all scrambling to review.

Only Jasmine was taking it easy, because she had twice as much time to burn.

I, on the other hand, had to become more efficient.

That night, I ran through my plan in my head. Early the next morning, I got up and went straight to the library to study.

I had forgotten almost everything I had learned in college in my last life, so picking it all back up was not easy.

To speed things up, I used my power to nudge up the goodwill of the top student in our class, the one with the highest GPA, just a little.

In truth, you could control exactly how much you raised someone’s affection.

In my last life, Jasmine always maxed it out and reveled in being adored and pursued by men.

I only needed the slightest push.

Just enough for a top student I barely knew to be willing to give me one hour of his lunch break and walk me through the problems I had run into during my morning review.

Lily Parker, one of my other roommates, happened to spot the two of us studying together in the campus cafeteria.

She snapped a picture, posted it in our dorm group chat, tagged me, and added a smirking emoji.

Lily: [Natalie, be honest. Did you land yourself a useful connection, or are you two a thing?]

Lucy Bennett, our third roommate, sent another smirking emoji right after her.

I did not even have time to reply before Jasmine started in with her snide comments.

Jasmine: [Wow. So you’ve gotten close to the top student now? Go ahead and share his precious notes with the rest of us.]

In my last life, that top student had been one of Jasmine’s simps too. Every assignment she turned in had been written by him.

Since she could not have a guy sit her finals for her, Jasmine had no choice but to cram at the last minute.

The materials she used to study were the notes that same top student had worked so hard to put together.

She had never shared them with the rest of us.

Lily had once tried to borrow those notes too, but the top student, completely wrapped around Jasmine’s finger, replied, “I only let Jasmine see my notes.”

Lily was so furious she spent the next three days privately cursing them out as that sleazy pair.

That was the end of whatever friendship Jasmine and Lily had left.

Later, I shared my own notes with Lily and Lucy as a reference, and the two of them helped fill in a lot of important points for me in return.

Other than Jasmine, the rest of us in the dorm actually got along pretty well. Even after graduation, we still kept in touch once in a while.

Jasmine wanted to stir up trouble in the group chat, but I did not care. I just sent over the notes I had made myself.

Natalie: [I don’t have his notes. You’re welcome to use mine.]

Lily and Lucy both thanked me, but Jasmine was clearly annoyed.

Jasmine: [You’re already that close to him, and I’m supposed to believe you don’t have his notes? Besides, what good are your notes anyway?]

I fired back without bothering to be polite.

Natalie: [Then don’t read them if they’re so useless.]

Jasmine sneered.

Jasmine: [Fine. I won’t. You really think you’re some top student now, huh?]
