My Poor Online Boyfriend Pulled Up in a Rolls Royce Chapter 10

My Poor Online Boyfriend Pulled Up in a Rolls Royce Chapter 10

The next day at work, my whole mind was blank.

During the meeting, I zoned out and was called on by the director three times.

While writing the proposal, my mind was full of Crystal Lake.

As I stared blankly at my computer, Sherry Glass waved her hand in front of my eyes.

“What’s wrong? What happened?”

I lay on my desk, listless.

“My ex-boyfriend… wants to get back together.”

Her jaw nearly dropped. She leaned closer, burning with gossip.

“The $800 million client you mentioned before?”

“…Mm.”

She slapped her thigh.

“Then why hesitate? Get back together!”

I looked up at her.

“You don’t understand.”

“What don’t I understand?”

“We’re not from the same world at all. Even if we get together now, how long can it last? Will

his family agree? What if he gets bored one day?”

She suddenly asked, “Do you like him?”

I froze.

“..”

“Tell the truth.”

Thinking of everything we had been through, my face turned red. Slowly, I forced out two

words.

“…I do.”

“Then that’s settled!”

“But…”

“But what?” she interrupted me. “If his family background and income were the same as

yours, would you get back together?”

I nodded without hesitation.

She slapped the table.

“Exactly. You like him, and you want to be with him. It’s that simple. You’re the one making it

complicated.”

I froze.

She looked at me, her eyes gradually softening.

“Claire, do you know what dating means?”

I nodded, then shook my head.

“Dating means you like him, and he likes you. When I asked you just now, your choice was to

get back together. That means your first instinct was to be with him, but you scared yourself

away with all those future what-ifs.”

I opened my mouth but said nothing.

“But are those what-ifs really that important? Or are they more important than the person you

love, even more important than your own heart?”

I was stunned.

“Claire, dating isn’t about the result. It’s about the process. Who decided that love has to end

in some guaranteed outcome?”

She patted my hand.

“Some people date for a lifetime and still get divorced. Some people date for three months

and keep a beautiful memory for the rest of their lives. Love is basically about respecting

your heart. As for the future, no one knows. Don’t let the sincerity between you two get

scared away by what-ifs.”

I suddenly understood.

I was deeply moved.

“Thank you, Sherry. I know what to do now!”

She smiled.

“No need to thank me. If it works out, just remember to invite me to the wedding.”

“Guaranteed!”
