My New Life as a Rancher with a Hot Billionaire Husband Chapter 06

My New Life as a Rancher with a Hot Billionaire Husband Chapter 06

Over the next few days, my life turned into something out of a spy movie.

I hired two locals to patrol around Caleb Harrington’s lodge before sunrise every day, chasing off any stray

wildlife.

I even overnighted dozens of noise-canceling earplugs and sleep masks.

It barely helped.

On the third morning, Caleb Harrington showed up in the lobby with massive dark circles under his eyes, his

expression blank.

“Check me out.”

The words were cold and final.

Panic hit me instantly. He was my only high-end client. I could not lose him.

“Mr. Harrington, please don’t rush. Was something not to your liking last night? Was the bed not soft

enough? The air not fresh enough?”

He pressed his fingers against his temples, irritation bleeding into his voice. “There was an insect last night. Chirping. Three times per second. It felt like it was drilling into my brain.”

I stared at him, speechless.

Was this man’s hearing sonar?

“Mr. Harrington, hear me out.” I took a deep breath and switched strategies. “Insomnia like yours?

Medication and soundproofing only treat the symptoms. The real issue is mental overload. Too much stress.

Too much overthinking.”

He looked at me coldly. “And your solution?”

“Physical therapy.” I slapped my thigh. “You’re too idle. Your brain has too much room to run wild. Exhaust

your body completely, and I guarantee you’ll fall asleep the second your head hits the pillow.”

His eyes narrowed dangerously. “You’re telling me to do manual labor?”

I grinned without missing a beat. “Not at all. This is called an immersive farm therapy experience. Only

eighty-eight hundred dollars a day. Guaranteed results.”

He stared at me for a full minute.

Just when I thought he might call security and have me dragged off, he let out a quiet, mocking laugh.

“Fine. If I still can’t sleep tonight, you’d better be ready for a lawsuit. I’ll take this ranch down.”

My heart dropped.

Great.

I had talked myself into a corner.

But there was no turning back now.

I could only push forward and hope for the best.
