My Mother Cut Me Apart For My Sister Chapter 07

My Mother Cut Me Apart For My Sister Chapter 07

I couldn’t stop shaking as he talked. Every word dragged me right back there.

The blade sliding across my skin, ice cold, my lungs fighting

for their last breath. I tried to scream for Mom. Nothing came

out.

After the interrogation, the officers ran the fingerprints on the

recovered evidence, half–convinced the whole thing was

absurd. No mother could do this.

And the timeline made no sense – Mom had spent three years

putting up missing–person notices across the country. Her hair had gone gray overnight. If she’d been the one to cut me apart, why go through all of that? Unless the whole thing was

an act.

But the prints came back clear. One set. Only one person had left prints on that knife–Mom.

The investigators huddled together. After a long deliberation, they agreed – they needed to approach this from another

angle.

Chloe.

Before the police could reach her, she’d already called a press

conference.

“Ms. Hayes, Victor claims you hired him to murder Stella. Do you have a response?”

Chloe’s eyes welled with perfectly timed tears.

“Honestly, when Stella disappeared, I assumed she’d just…

run away. I never imagined something this horrible could have happened to her.” Her voice wavered. “She was my sister. This is tearing me apart.“,

“As for the accusations – the truth will come out. I’m not

worried.”

“My legal team is already preparing defamation lawsuits against anyone spreading these lies.”

The live chat under the stream erupted:

“We stand with Chloe! The truth speaks for itself!”

1

“Stella is unbelievable she’s DEAD and still finding ways to drag Chloe down!”

“Bet Stella paid Victor to fake her own murder just to frame

Chloe!”

But the tide wasn’t one–sided anymore. Other voices pushed

back:

“Hold on – if we’re talking money, Chloe’s the one who supposedly dropped five million!”

“After the industry blacklisted Stella, all her brand deals sued her for breach of contract. She had nothing left!”

“Lol of course Chloe’s pulling the lawyer card again. Let me guess–suing random people on the internet for having

opinions?”

The argument was still raging when the back doors of the press room swung open and two officers walked in.

“Chloe, please come with us.”

Chloe’s smile faltered for a fraction of a second before

perfectly snapping back into place. “Of course, officers. Even if this is all Stella’s doing, I know I need to cooperate. I have nothing to hide.”

Her fans melted:

“Chloe is literally an angel She’s being FRAMED and she’s still

this gracious about it!”

“We’ll always believe in you, Chloe!!”

In the interrogation room, Chloe listened to Victor’s confession with a sigh. “Officers, this is a lie. I never gave that

man five million dollars. Not a cent.”

“Check my accounts if you don’t believe me.”

Meanwhile, the officers subpoenaed the bank and pulled

Chloe’s complete transaction history.

Every transaction checked out–spotless. Chloe gave a long,

weary sigh.

“See? Clean. Can I go now?”

Without conclusive evidence, they had no choice but to let her

walk.

The door hadn’t even closed behind her when the lead officer

froze midstep. Something didn’t sit right.

Could Victor’s accusation really be fabricated? The records were clean – charity donations, designer bags, clothes.

Normal. Routine.

And then it hit him. It was too normal.

The officer shot to his feet. “Hold on.”

“Take a seat, Ms. Hayes.”

Chloe’s heels stopped clicking. She turned, smile still perfectly in place. “Something wrong, officer?”

“Chloe.” His eyes locked onto hers. “Want to tell us where the five million from your last movie deal disappeared to?”
