My Mom’s Low-Cal Meals Killed Me In My Past Life Chapter 07

My Mom’s Low-Cal Meals Killed Me In My Past Life Chapter 07

Mom and Serena came toward me, trying to drag me back into my room and drive the neighbors

away.

But by then, the crowd could smell the rot beneath the surface; the illusion of a doting family had

shattered.

“Denise, what exactly are you hiding from us? Let Lainey speak.”

“That’s right. Don’t be scared, Lainey. If we have to, we’ll call the police.”

The moment they heard the word police, both of them looked even more panicked.

Mom bit down hard on her lip, but she still did not forget to comfort Serena, who looked terrified.

I looked at the neighbors’ confused faces and spoke in a low steady cadence.

“For a while, I was completely lost too. I couldn’t understand why I couldn’t lose weight no matter

what I did.”

“Now I know.”

Under everyone’s shocked gaze, I slowly took off my shirt.

Two angry, scarred puncture wounds were exposed on my back.

One was surrounded by a stagnant red halo. One was stained a bruising blue.

“What the hell is that?”

“That’s horrifying.”

The neighbors were so frightened that they stepped back. Mom and Serena slowly lowered their

heads.

I took a deep breath and told them, “Every night, Mom and Serena came into my room. Through the red puncture wound, they pumped large amounts of drugs into me. Those drugs made my fat cells

divide rapidly, causing my weight to climb at an unnatural speed.”

“That was why I could never lose weight, no matter how hard I tried.”

Everyone sucked in a cold breath.

“This… why would Denise and Serena do that?”

I gave a faint smile. “Of course they had a reason.”

“The blue scar on my body is the answer.”

“Because every day, they weren’t just injecting me. They were also harvesting fat cells from my

body.”

I looked at Mom and Serena and smiled coldly.

“Am I right?”

They huddled on the couch, their faces pale, unable to come up with a denial.

“Because a fat-reduction enzyme can be extracted from my fat cells. It’s the raw material used to

make the medicated body bar and those pills.”

“To put it simply, Mom used my living nightmare to buy Serena a healthy body. Do you understand

now?”

Serena came toward me, the fury in her eyes finally impossible to suppress. She shoved me hard

against the chest.

“Elaina, if you’re going to make up lies, at least make them make sense. You said Mom and I injected you every night. Then who injected you when you were at that boot camp? You still gained weight there, didn’t you?”

I sneered and stared straight into her eyes.

“Serena, the night I left, you and Mom injected me with ten times the normal dose. Did you really

think I didn’t know?”

“You’re lying!”

Her denial was weak and empty, dissolving into a panicked squeak.

The neighbors pointed at Mom and Serena and started cursing.

“You heartless monsters. You nearly killed Lainey just for Serena. Denise, how could a mother be

this biased?”

“Is your younger daughter’s life not a life too? You sick, twisted monster.”

“Call the police. Call them and have these two arrested.”

Someone shouted for the police, but I stopped them.

“Lainey, even now, you’re still protecting them?”

“They were trying to kill you.”

I knew they wanted me dead.

Otherwise, they would not have pushed me so eagerly toward gastric sleeve surgery.

The day they suggested the surgery, I called a specialist at St. Catherine Medical Center and described my condition.

The doctor told me that in my current state, I was not a suitable candidate for surgery at all. The risk of dying from a post-surgical infection was near absolute.

From that moment on, I understood.

Serena’s body had already stabilized. She no longer needed them to harvest cells from me.

I had completely lost my usefulness.

So I pretended to leave a suicide note, just to see how they would react.

Sure enough, they were happy.

They were relieved that I had chosen to die on my own, so they no longer had to scheme and push me into a surgery that would finish the job for them.

We were both supposed to be her children.

So why had Mom chosen to sacrifice me?
