My Meek Desk Mate Is the Secret School Tyrant Chapter 19

Senior year, final semester.

The forced-study program was still in full effect. I was grinding toward Harvard. Whipping Orion toward a top public university. We both had bright futures ahead.

One ordinary study afternoon, Orion and I came out of the grocery store and ran into my childhood friend

waiting at the school gate.

He’d brought pastries his mom made. “You’ve loved her pastries since we were kids. Brought them just for

you.”

I took them with a grin and a casual thanks.

His gaze drifted past me. Landed on Orion behind me.

“Who’s this?”

“Oh. My friend.”

Orion was leaning against the wall, a plastic bag full of my favorite snacks dangling from one hand. He nodded politely.

My friend looked at me. Voice soft. “Is this friend also a study buddy? Like me?”

I nodded.

Something flickered in his eyes. He looked at me seriously. “Linnea. You’re still aiming for Harvard, right?”

I patted his shoulder with absolute certainty. “Don’t worry. Even though I transferred here, that goal has never

changed.”

He gave Orion a long, meaningful look. Then turned back to me with a bright smile. “Good. Don’t forget our

promise.”
