My Meek Desk Mate Is the Secret School Tyrant Chapter 02

Orion Cole. A guy who slept through pretty much every class.

In the week since I’d transferred, I hadn’t seen a single person speak to him. Clearly, he was the outcast. The loner. Without question, a softer target than me.

“Sleepyhead.”

I poked him gently while he was asleep on his arms.

“I have a request. It’s unreasonable, and you have to say yes.”

Orion didn’t move. Didn’t make a sound.

Silence meant consent.

I kept going on my own. “I’m gonna bully you now. Just stay quiet.”

Orion finally stirred. He lifted his head, eyes still heavy with sleep. “Bully what?”

Poor guy. Isolated and apparently half-deaf.

I enunciated every word. “Bully. You.”

“You?” Orion laughed. “Bully me?”

I nodded seriously. “Yes. But I have my reasons.”

Orion seemed to have finally woken up.

He put his silver-rimmed glasses back on, propped his elbow on the desk, rested his chin in his hand, and looked at me with a smile. “Alright. Tell me these reasons.”

I laid out my whole trash-school survival philosophy. If I looked like easy prey, the assholes would come for me. So I had to look like someone not to be messed with.

Orion paused. He was quiet for a moment, like he was digesting my words.

That was when I finally got a good look at him. High nose bridge. Dense, long lashes. Sharp, narrow eyes softened by the lenses into something almost gentle.

The corner of his mouth twitched. “So. You spent a week shopping for a victim. And you picked me.”

I nodded solemnly.

He leaned back in his chair, his whole posture lazy and amused. “Fine. Let’s see how you plan to bully me.”
