My Mate Killed Me For My Sister, I Became Luna Of His Enemy Chapter 18 You Could Have Had It All

Bella’s POV

I had never felt so alive.

Snow’s consciousness merged with mine. She burst out of me in a flurry of white fur. I’d shifted many times before, but not like this. Snow was different now. She was fueled by the Moon Mate bond.

And she was glorious.

I saw everyone take a step back. Their jaws dropped open as they stared at Snow. They were stunned by her beauty and her power. Off to the side, Caleb smiled. He nodded his head.

“No, wait,” Danny, Silas’s Beta said. He stepped forward. “What’s happening? Silas can’t fight her.”

Caleb’s voice rang across the clearing.

“We are Moon Mates,” he told the stunned crowd. “Bella and I share a bond older than time. Our wolves are blended in a way that no one else can understand. My wolf is an alpha. And now, so is hers.”

Danny shook his head.

“But that isn’t…you can’t…”

Baxter snapped his jaws. He was down on his hunches.

“I didn’t challenge Silas. Bella did. You all just assumed it was me who wanted to fight. But it was Bella who stepped forward and proposed the challenge.”

Danny shut his mouth. We had planned this. We knew that everyone would assume it was Caleb who was challenging Silas. But it was a technicality.

Technically, I was the one who had said: “I propose an Alpha challenge.”

So technically, the challenge belonged to me.

I watched as realization dawned on their faces.

Caleb addressed the crowd. “This is Bella’s fight. Not mine. This has always been Bella’s fight.” His face radiated with pride. Then he bowed with a sweep of his hand and stepped aside.

There was nothing Danny could do. The rules were the rules. So he had no choice but to step aside too.

Snow was wild with blood thirst now. She snapped her jaws at Baxter. Her strength pulsed through her.

The crowd erupted gasps and shouts. This upended everything they’d expected. An Alpha Challenge with a female wolf? It was unheard of. And a Moon Mate- bonded wolf, nonetheless.

But it wasn’t long before Baxter let loose.

He charged.

He was fast. He came low and hard, his jaws aimed at my throat. It was a classic alpha opening. And it was designed to end a fight in the first exchange.

Snow sidestepped.

She didn’t dodge. She didn’t scramble. She simply stepped out of the way. Her movements were fluid and precise.

Baxter spun around, momentarily confused. Then he saw Snow, standing behind him.

He lunged again.

But again, she moved just enough, just far enough away. His his jaws snapped shut on empty air.

Then she spun and lunged. It caught him off-guard. Her teeth sank into his throat.

It wasn’t a killing bite. But it tore his flesh.

He tossed his head. Snow released.

The crowd roared.

He circled. He was hurting. Blood seeped from his wound.

Snow was merciless.

She lunged again.

This time, her teeth sunk into his underbelly. He’d tried to jump when he saw her lunge. He howled. Then he leapt up into the air. Snow met him. She slammed into him with the full weight of her body. The impact was catastrophic. His wolf went airborne, briefly, violently, then hit the ground with a sound that made the crowd wince.

Snow was on him before he could rise. her jaws found his throat.

She held him there. Not for the kill. For the message.

The message was clear. No words were needed.

“I could end you. Right now. The way you ended me. You left me on a table with my wolf torn out and my heart stopped. And now your life is in my jaws. How does it feel?”

His wolf whined. It was a high, broken sound I’d never heard from an alpha. It was the sound of total surrender. His body went limp beneath. His belly was exposed. His position said he was yielding.

The crowd was deafening. The sound hit us like a wall. They cheered and howling. I barely heard it. The world had narrowed to this: Snow’s teeth on his throat, his wolf whining beneath her in surrender.

Snow released him.

She stepped back. I shifted. The transformation was smooth and effortless. I stood

in the center of the area, barefoot.

I felt more powerful than I ever had in my entire life.

Baxter tried to stand. He managed it, but barely. He swayed on three legs, the fourth hobbling uselessly beneath his wounded flank.

The blood was matted on his fur. He tried to limp toward the edge of the clearing, toward the tree line, toward escape.

I stepped into his path.

He looked up at me. His wolf’s eyes were Silas’s eyes. Gray and defeated.

“You had every chance,” I told him. He wolf cowered. My voice was even. It was the voice of an alpha delivering judgment. “You had a mate who loved you. A pack that trusted you. I would have given you everything. But you threw it all away for a liar.”

His wolf lowered his head. The whine had faded to silence. He cowered, broken and bleeding, and waited.

I looked at the guards who lined the perimeter. “Toss him in the forest,” I said. “He’s a rogue now.”

The guards moved. Efficiently, without ceremony. Baxter looked backwards, towards Danny. But Danny shook his head. Then he stepped forward.

I held Danny’s gaze. “You’re free to go with him if you choose. But if you stay, you

serve me.”

Danny looked at Storm’s wolf, who was now disappearing into the shadows of the tree line. Then he looked at me.

He bowed his head. “I will stay,” he said.

“Good. Because I need a Beta,” I told him. He looked up at me, his brows furrowed.

“You would offer me the position? Even though I served Silas?”

“You served Silas well,” I told Danny. “Don’t think I didn’t see that. You stood by him right until the very end. That type of loyalty is exactly what I need.”

Danny took a knee. He looked down at the ground.

“You are most gracious, Alpha Bella.”

It was the first time anyone had addressed me as alpha.

I liked the sound of that. Alpha Bella.

I REALLY liked the sounds of that.
