My Husband’s Heir Cost Him His Own Daughter Chapter 46

“If she doesn’t forgive me, I’ll stay here. I’ll live here until she does.”

My father laughed, a harsh, angry sound.

“You shameless bastard. You really have no bottom.”

He pointed a finger at Carter, all pretense of politeness gone.

“Do you remember what you said three years ago? You stood right here, just like this, and told me you were wrong, that you’d never see that woman again, that you’d never betray my daughter. And what happened? You carried on with her for three years behind Amelia’s back and even had a child! You humiliated my daughter, left her bleeding on a polo field, and nearly killed her and her baby. And you have the nerve to come here begging for forgiveness?”

Carter’s face went pale, but he didn’t flinch.

He took the verbal lashing without a word.

“You’re right to be angry, sir. I accept it all.” His voice was hoarse. “But please believe me, this time I truly know I was wrong. Savannah and I are finished. And that child… he wasn’t mine.”

“I don’t care.”

My father cut him off.

“Whether that child was yours is irrelevant. What matters is that for that child, you were willing to sacrifice my daughter. You made your choice.”

With that, he turned and walked away, not giving Carter another glance.

Across the street, Carter stood alone amidst his expensive, newly delivered furniture.
