My Husband’s Heir Cost Him His Own Daughter Chapter 40

“Savannah, you are really something else.” His eyes were red, his voice thick with regret and hatred. “And I hurt Amelia, again and again, for a woman like you.”

“You hit me?” Savannah clutched her rapidly swelling cheek, staring up at him from the bed.

That slap seemed to strip away her final layer of pretense.

She stopped acting.

She laughed, a wild, unhinged sound.

“Carter Beauchamp, you chose this! Don’t you dare put all the blame on me! If you weren’t so obsessed with this face, would you have kept coming to me behind Amelia’s back? Her leaving you was only a matter of time!”

“And since we’re being honest,” she spat, lifting her chin to meet his murderous gaze, “I might as well tell you everything.”

“At the polo match, I fell on purpose. I framed her! I don’t have depression. The medical records were fake! Amelia never laid a finger on me. Every single time, I set her up!”

“Bitch!”

Carter snapped. He lunged forward and wrapped his hands around her throat.

“I’m going to kill you.”

The air was cut off.

Savannah’s face began to turn a mottled purple.

But her eyes held no fear. Only a strange, triumphant satisfaction.

“Kill me…” she rasped. “Don’t want to live anyway… taking you down with me… is even better…”

Carter looked at her twisted face, and his fingers suddenly went slack.

Kill her?

No. That would be too easy.

He released her, watching coldly as she collapsed onto the bed, coughing and gasping for air. Then he pulled out his phone, his voice hard and flat.

“Security? Get this woman out of the Beauchamp family hospital.”
