My Husband’s Heir Cost Him His Own Daughter Chapter 23

He stumbled his way to the patch of white roses near the polo field.

And then he stopped dead.

The morning sun illuminated the once-pristine blossoms, now splattered with large, dark patches of dried blood.

It was on the grass.

It was on the white petals.

Every stain was a fresh accusation, a replay of that horrific afternoon.

“Isn’t it just a little blood? What’s the big deal?” Savannah had followed him, her tone petulant. “Carter, you haven’t slept. Don’t let something so trivial—”

“Miss Dupont,” the butler interrupted, his voice polite but icy, “we have been occupied with attending to Madam’s departure. We haven’t had the time to tidy this area.”

He spoke slowly, ensuring Carter heard every word.

Carter crouched down, his fingers trembling as he touched a bloodstained petal.

He looked up at the butler.

“All of this… is her blood?”

The butler simply nodded.

The gesture was more damning than any words.

“What ‘Madam’? What ‘Miss Dupont’?” Savannah snapped. “I am the Mrs. Beauchamp of this house now! Amelia is divorced from your master. She’s nothing! From now on, you will all address me as Mrs. Beauchamp. Do you understand?”
