My Husband’s Heir Cost Him His Own Daughter Chapter 19

“You don’t have to cry anymore. We’re going home.”

“Yes. Home.”

I wiped my tears and climbed into the waiting Bentley.

The door closed, sealing out Charleston’s heavy, humid air and welcoming the cool, clean scent of Boston.

From this day forward, I, Amelia Lowell, would start over.

As for Carter Beauchamp…

He could stay the hell out of my life.

I heard later that his ridiculous party dragged on until midnight.

After the last guest had departed, Carter rushed out of the Beauchamp estate.

Savannah, after shoving the baby into a nanny’s arms, followed him.

She wanted to see for herself where he was going, what last trick Amelia had up her sleeve.

The divorce was final. She was sure Carter would marry her now. It was only a matter of time.

They arrived at the hospital.

Carter didn’t even bother to park. He abandoned his car at the emergency entrance and ran inside, grabbing the first nurse he saw.

“Excuse me, can you tell me which room Amelia Lowell is in?”

“Amelia Lowell?” The nurse glanced at him, then at Savannah hurrying up behind him. Her eyes narrowed. “Are you Carter Beauchamp?”
