My Husband’s Happiness Reached 100% When I Left Chapter 10

My Husband’s Happiness Reached 100% When I Left Chapter 10

Damian watched my body slowly turn transparent, and in a panic, lunged for me, trying to grab hold.

His hands passed through me, over and over.

He couldn’t touch me at all.

I looked at him one last time, then closed my eyes.

When I opened them again, I was back in my own world.

It looked exactly like Damian’s world-the only difference was, he wasn’t in it.

I looked at the $7,630,000 that had appeared in my bank account and felt a rush of joy.

I spent the next three years building a company from scratch, throwing myself into it, too busy in my own

world to think about the past.

Within those three years, I had it all-love and career, both flourishing.

I met a man who truly loved me, who never let stability make him careless with me.

We got married, naturally, in time.

Three years after that, I gave birth to a son.

Handsome features, sweet temperament.

The night I gave birth, I had a dream.

In it, I saw this baby was the reincarnation of the little angel I’d once lost.

In the dream, I was overjoyed.

The System, which I hadn’t heard from in three years, appeared in the dream too.

It told me what had happened to Damian since I’d left.

It said that after I disappeared, he lost his mind.

He spent every day obsessing over the System, over parallel worlds, telling anyone who would listen that the love of his life had gone to another world.

Because of that, Ashford Group went bankrupt. And his own family, who cared only about profit, cast him out

and disowned him.

Brielle, meanwhile, had been sent back to her hometown and married off to a local bachelor in that small rural town, never to leave again.

After being cast out by his family, Damian had turned to gambling-the only place he could forget about me.

But he was cheated out of everything, buried in debt so deep that even his house couldn’t cover it.

In the end, someone cut off both his hands to settle the debt.

Just before I woke up, the System showed me one last image.

Damian, holding a picture frame with his mutilated hands, freezing to death on a snow-covered street.

Inside that frame was a photo of me.

I only let out a quiet sigh at that, shaking my head.

“He brought it on himself.”

The System’s voice, no longer cold, spoke one last time:

“Host, my task here is complete. I’ll be moving on to my next destination. Wishing you happiness for the rest of your life.”

I opened my eyes with a start.

My husband, sensing me stir, woke instantly.

“What’s wrong, Annika?”

I came back to myself, wrapped in a wave of overwhelming safety.

I curled into him, closing my eyes.

“Nothing. Just a dream.”

“A bad one?”

“Not really. Just a dream about the past. Doesn’t matter anymore.”

“Don’t be afraid. I’m right here.”

I smiled, my heart settling into perfect peace.

I thought, if I could see a Happiness Index right now, I’m sure mine would read 100%.

THE END
