I drove my SUV toward Cole Industries’ headquarters. As soon as I walked into the lobby and was about to ask the receptionist for directions, she recognized me.

“Mrs. Cole! I’ll let Mr. Cole know you’re here.”

The receptionist smiled and explained, “There’s a picture of you and Mr. Cole on the company culture wall.”

She picked up the phone and dialed the executive suite’s internal line. “Mr. Cole, your wife is here in the lobby.”

I heard Hunter’s voice on the other end. “Bring her up.”

“Yes, sir.” She hung up and led me to the private executive elevator.

The executive office was on the ninth floor.

As soon as I stepped out of the elevator, I saw Summer Chase walking out of the office.

She bumped right into me, knocking the box of cakes out of my hand.
