Kael drove me home.

I slouched in the passenger seat.

I raked my hands through my hair, freaking out. “How could she turn into this? I thought she

was just like me! She’s a cold-blooded killer! She-she-”

“She’s perfect for Jax,” Kael said, sounding impressed.

“I always thought Jax was too soft to run the company. Your sister will toughen him up.”

I stammered for a second, then blurted out: “She was such a good actor before!”

“That’s what happens when poor people suddenly get rich,” Kael said dismissively.

“Don’t worry. She won’t dare touch you. People like her only bully the weak and kiss up to the strong. She sucked up to your parents to climb up, then dumped them. No fancy excuses can

hide what she really is.”

“…Don’t be so mean.”

“Fine. I’ll drop it.”

Kael’s smile turned playful. “You know the best part? Jax is only 18. He can’t call the shots.

My brother-in-law is old-fashioned. He’ll never help her ruin the Chen family.”

“…So?”

“So no matter how tough she acts now, she’ll end up begging you.”

“And if you say no? She’s shameless enough to seduce her brother-in-law.”

Kael nearly laughed out loud. “What do you think I should do then, baby?”

I licked my lips and said honestly: “Just go along with it.”

“I think you two would be perfect together. If she hadn’t run away from the wedding, you

would’ve fallen for her.”

Kael glanced at me calmly, not angry.

“I might’ve been curious. It’s been a while since I met someone so full of herself. But in the end? I still would’ve picked you.”

“Then it really would’ve been sneaking around with my sister-in-law.”

His breath hitched.

He suddenly slammed on the brakes.

Crash.

The car behind rear-ended us.

Angry yelling died the second they saw the luxury logo and license plate.

Kael sighed and unbuckled his seatbelt. Before he got out to handle it, he whispered in my

ear:

“You’ve been bad, baby. Trying to give me away. You’re in for it tonight~”
