My Husband Offered $100 Million to Buy Out Our Marriage Chapter 03

I crawled on my knees to the shattered urn, my hands shaking uncontrollably.

Images of my mother before her death flashed through my mind frequently.

“Elara, divorce Julian, Mom just wants you to be happy…”

So, what did three years of stubbornness actually get me?

Nothing but another arrow through the heart.

My eyes were bloodshot, yet I couldn’t shed a single tear.

I could only helplessly try to gather the broken pieces of the urn, trying to fix the unfixable.

The next second, Julian raised his foot and ground it into my mother’s ashes.

I went mad, pounding on his shins with all my strength.

“Get out!! Get out!”

“Everyone, get out!”

Julian didn’t budge; he looked down at me and sneered.

“It’s just a box full of bad luck from who knows where, is it really worth having a meltdown over?”

“Look at you right now, how are you any different from a crazy woman?”

Cassidy leaned on his arm, acting coy.

“Julian, she just slapped me, breaking a box seems a bit too easy on her, don’t you think?”

Julian looked at her dotingly.

“What do you want?”

“Give her ten slaps to even things out.”

Hearing this, Julian chuckled; his tone suddenly turned ice-cold as he spoke to me.

“Elara, did you hear that? Cassidy wants to even things out.”

I jerked my head up, staring at him fiercely through bloodshot eyes.

He paused, a smirk playing on his lips.

“Is it really that serious? You haven’t cried in forever, and now you’re sobbing over a broken box?”

I only then realized my face was covered in tears.

The man knelt down and wiped the tears from the corners of my eyes.

His movements were gentle, his tone arrogant.

“Name your price, let’s buy out this box.”

I let out a hollow laugh.

Buyout.

Buyout again!

In Julian’s eyes, it seemed everything I owned could be bought out with his money.

Four years ago, on our wedding night, I couldn’t accept it, screaming and fighting.

Julian ignored my breakdown, turned around, and made a date with another woman, leaving me alone in our wedding bed.

Before dawn, their bedroom photos were everywhere; I, his actual wife, became the laughingstock of the city.

I sat alone until morning, clutching those photos.

When he called, his tone was just as arrogant as it was now.

“Are you ready to talk terms properly now?”

“Elara, I’ve given you the title, the status, and the money; you’re just too greedy—you actually want me to stay faithful to you for the rest of my life.”

I couldn’t understand; he was the one who promised me everything, why was I the one being called greedy in the end?

I stubbornly entangled myself with him.

Every time I was hurt, he used money to buy out my pain.

This time, let him personally buy out our relationship.

I looked at Julian and repeated that number once more.

“A billion.”
