My Fiancé and His Best Friend Got Drunk-Married Chapter 01

My Fiancé and His Best Friend Got Drunk-Married Chapter 01

With just one day left before the wedding, I was rummaging through a cabinet when I came across a piece of paper.

It was the marriage certificate of Harrison Ford and his childhood friend.

I immediately snapped a photo and sent it to him: [Explain this]

I thought it was just a prank, but almost instantly, a voice message came through, “Emily, I’m really sorry. Last night at the bar, it was just a joke. I got drunk with Harrison and we went ahead and filed the certificate.”

“Don’t worry. After the divorce cooling-off period, we’ll go through with it immediately.”

“I’ll absolutely give him back to you.”

I was silent for two seconds, then blocked his account.

Three hours later, Harrison returned home. I happened to be rolling my suitcase down the stairs.

He glanced at the paper on the coffee table and pinched the bridge of his nose.

“Such a trivial thing… she was just being playful. Why hold on so tightly?”

“You’ve waited six years for this wedding. Can’t even wait a month?”

I smiled faintly, not denying it. “Yes, I can’t wait.”

Harrison froze for a moment.

Instinctively, he stepped in front of me. “Emily, don’t make a scene.”

“The invitations are already sent out. If you leave now, how are the families supposed to handle it?”

I pushed his hand aside and kept moving toward the door.

His voice finally sank. “You’d destroy six years of our relationship over this little thing?”

I stopped and turned to look at him. “Six years?”

“Harrison, when you filed that certificate with her… did you even think about six years?”

He was speechless.

Finally, he forced out a half-hearted explanation.

“The bar was chaotic. My friends kept pouring me drinks. She tried to shield me a lot, but she was dizzy too.”

“There were too many instigators… we got carried away.”

He paused, then lifted his eyes and returned to his usual calm, “It was just a joke. Correcting it fixes everything.”

I looked at his indifferent face and found I had no desire to argue.

A joke? If marriage can be a joke, what in this world is serious?

As I turned away, his phone suddenly rang.

He glanced at it. “It’s Chloe. She knows she messed up and wants to apologize…”

I ignored him and opened the door.

But Chloe was already standing outside.

Short, sharp hair. Wearing a biker jacket. Juggling car keys in her hand.

“Emily, you really going?”

I dragged my suitcase around her.

Chloe clicked her tongue and snatched the handle from me.

“Is this necessary? I admitted my mistake, okay?”

“I pushed him into filing it. I poured the drinks. Got a problem with that? Don’t take it out on Harrison.”

Harrison came out from the doorway, frowning.

“Chloe, be polite to Emily. Give her suitcase back.”

Chloe didn’t budge. She pulled the suitcase closer to her.

“Give it back? Tomorrow at the wedding, are you gonna exchange rings with air?”

She turned back to me, eyes challenging, “Emily, I’m nothing like you, orbiting a man all day with no life or career of my own.”

“But I know a big boss like Harrison, business dinners and social games are normal.”

She stepped closer, arrogance in her tone, “When we played in the mud bare-assed, when he got into fights and I helped him pick up bricks, where were you then?”

“With the bond we share, filing a fake certificate as a joke, what’s the big deal?”

She sneered, scanning me up and down, “Throwing a fit over something so small, don’t you have any sense?”

I met her scolding gaze calmly, “If you’re so considerate and always thinking of him, then you go to tomorrow’s wedding.”

“Perfect. You’ll be the star, and that fake certificate can finally become real.”
