My Ex Thought I Still Loved Him, I Was Already Married Rich Chapter 13

“Julian?”

Adrian’s hand, which had been roaming all over me, froze instantly.

The next second, he scoffed.

“What is he doing here?”

“Does he think helping us at the critical moment means he gets to come here and take credit?”

“I could have dug up that evidence without him.”

The jealousy in his voice was impossible to miss.

I could not help wanting to laugh.

“Are you jealous?”

Adrian narrowed his eyes.

“Am I not allowed to be?”

“Your ex-boyfriend has shown up at our house. Am I supposed to applaud him?”

As he spoke, his expression grew darker and darker.

I reached out, hugged him, and nuzzled against him.

“Don’t worry. I’m not going to look at him differently just because of what he did.”

Only then did Adrian’s expression ease slightly.

But his tone was still sharp and sour.

“Who knows?”

“First loves are dangerous. People romanticize them like crazy.”

“What if you meet him, he gets down on his knees, says a few words about regretting everything, and your heart softens?”

I could not help laughing out loud.

“Mr. Blackwood, do you really have that little confidence in yourself?”

He held me and lowered his head, burying his face in the curve of my neck as he muttered, “It’s not that I don’t have confidence. It’s that I care about you too much.”

I patted his back and said softly, “I still need to see him once.”

Adrian immediately lifted his head.

“No. Absolutely not.”

“You’re definitely going to get back together with that little Shaw homewrecker.”

He looked utterly devastated.

“It’s over.”

“My wife doesn’t want me anymore.”

“I’m going to throw myself off the roof right now.”

After saying that, he actually turned as if he were about to leave.

I was caught between laughter and exasperation, and I quickly reached out to grab him.

“Adrian!”

He kept his back to me.

“Don’t touch me. I’m just an abandoned puppy now.”

He was making such a scene that I had no choice but to stand on tiptoe and kiss him on the lips.

“Stop overthinking.”

“I just feel like some things need closure.”

“I don’t have feelings for him anymore. I really don’t.”

Adrian looked down at me, still clearly unhappy.

I had no choice but to keep coaxing him.

“Besides, you’re the only one in my heart now. There isn’t room for anyone else.”

His gaze finally softened a little, but he still asked on purpose, “Really?”

I nodded.

“Really.”

Adrian was silent for two seconds. Then he suddenly lowered his head and bit my lip, his voice rough.

“Then when you come back, you’ll have to make it up to me.”

My ears heated. “How?”

He leaned close to my ear and murmured a string of filthy suggestions.

My face instantly burned.

“Adrian!”

He finally smiled.

His mood had obviously improved a lot.

Even then, he still held my hand and lowered his head to kiss it again and again. It took him a long while before he was willing to let me go.

“Go.”

“But don’t stay with him too long.”

“I’ll get jealous.”

Julian had been shown into the sitting room.

When I pushed the door open and walked in, he stood up almost instantly.

In just a few days, he had grown much more haggard. His eyes were bloodshot.

The way he looked at me was anxious and pleading.

He no longer had the cold, superior air he used to wear.

“Nora.”

I said nothing.

I simply sat down calmly across from him.

Julian’s eyes turned red.

“I’m sorry.”

“I really didn’t know the Carlisle family did all those things to you afterward.”

“If I had known, I never would have…”

When he reached that point, his voice was already trembling.

“I’ve already handed the evidence over to the police.”

“Sophia got what she deserved too.”

“Nora, can you… forgive me?”

I looked at him quietly.

I was glad that seeing him like this no longer stirred anything in me.

The man I had once loved so desperately was now sitting in front of me, humbly begging for my forgiveness.

But all I felt was boredom.

I spoke softly.

“I will never forgive you.”

Julian’s face went white in an instant.
