My Ex Thought I Still Loved Him, I Was Already Married Rich Chapter 08

My Ex Thought I Still Loved Him, I Was Already Married Rich Chapter 08

Julian’s face changed sharply, and he called out instinctively, “Nora…”

I rushed forward and slapped him hard across the face.

Julian’s head snapped to the side.

With red eyes, I lunged toward the hospital bed.

Sophia had been leaning against the headboard with her eyes closed. I grabbed her and yanked her up.

“Was killing my mother not enough for you? You couldn’t even spare my father and my grandmother?”

I raised my hand, ready to slap her.

But my wrist was seized in a death grip.

It was Julian again.

He frowned, his voice heavy.

“Nora, calm down.”

I lifted my head as tears poured uncontrollably down my face.

“How am I supposed to calm down?”

“You all destroyed my family!”

“Now my grandmother is dead too!”

“Julian, I’ll fight all of you to the death!”

Sophia burst into tears and clutched her father’s sleeve, trembling.

“Dad, I’m so scared. Is she insane?”

Mr. Carlisle Sr.’s expression darkened completely. He spoke coldly.

“Where are the guards? Drag this lunatic out of here.”

Several bodyguards in black rushed in.

I stared at Mr. Carlisle Sr. and asked through gritted teeth, “What? Are you going to tie me up and take nude photos of me again, just like five years ago?”

Julian stared hard at me, emotions I could not understand churning in his eyes.

“What did you just say?”

My eyes were red, and my chest rose and fell violently.

“I said Victor Carlisle kidnapped me and threatened me with nude photos!”

A clear flash of panic crossed Mr. Carlisle Sr.’s eyes.

But Julian frowned, and his voice sank.

“Nora, that’s enough.”

“Mr. Carlisle Sr. is an upstanding man, and the Carlisle family has never done anything illegal.”

“Stop making baseless accusations.”

My heart felt as if it had been stabbed.

Of course. Even now, he still did not believe me.

Then again, why would he?

He had never once stood on my side.

Tears blurred my vision as I rasped, “Of course you don’t believe me.”

“In your eyes, Sophia will always be innocent, and the Carlisle family will always be clean.”

“And I will always be the unreasonable, hysterical lunatic.”

I wiped my tears away.

“But that’s fine. One day, I’ll get justice myself.”

Julian stared at me in a daze.

Mr. Carlisle Sr. had completely panicked. His face hardened.

“Guards! What are you waiting for? Drag this lunatic out!”

Several bodyguards immediately rushed at me.

I struggled with everything I had.

“Let go of me, you animals!”

Julian frowned slightly and said, “Mr. Carlisle Sr., her grandmother just passed away. She’s emotionally unstable.”

“Don’t take it personally. Just send her home for now.”

Mr. Carlisle Sr. immediately nodded.

“Don’t worry. I won’t argue with someone who clearly has mental issues.”

“You take care of Sophie for me. I’ll escort Miss Hale out.”

After he finished speaking, he turned to look at me, and a cold, vicious glint flashed through his eyes.

I was forcibly dragged out of the hospital.

I struggled the whole way, but no one paid any attention to me.

It was not until we reached the underground parking garage that Mr. Carlisle Sr. finally stopped.

“Miss Hale, why do you insist on never learning your lesson?”

He stared at me with a sinister expression.

I glared back at him.

“You’ll all get what you deserve sooner or later.”

Mr. Carlisle Sr. laughed.

“What we deserve?”

“In this world, people with money and power make the rules.”

“You’re nothing but filth ground into the dirt. What makes you think you can fight me?”

A moment later, several people in white medical coats walked over.

The middle-aged man at the front spoke respectfully.

“Mr. Carlisle Sr., the admission paperwork is ready.”

Mr. Carlisle Sr. smiled faintly.

“Miss Hale is emotionally unstable and showing severe violent tendencies. She needs treatment. Take good care of her.”

Only then did I realize that he was trying to have me locked in a psychiatric facility.

“You’re insane! There is nothing wrong with me!”

I fought desperately, but several men pinned me down hard.

Mr. Carlisle Sr. looked down at me.

“Nora, do you really think anyone will believe you now?”

He slowly took out his phone and opened a photo album.

Those nightmarish photos came into view.

My mind roared, and my face turned deathly pale.

If Maya had not risked everything to rescue me back then, it would not have stopped at a few photos.

Mr. Carlisle Sr. looked satisfied with my reaction.

“I’ve kept all these lovely pictures of you.”

“Tell me, what do you think would happen if I posted them online right now?”

My whole body trembled, and my eyes burned red.

“You animal. Your whole family is nothing but animals!”

A sharp slap cracked across my face.

My head snapped to the side, and my ears rang.

Beside me, a nurse had already taken out a syringe.

The clear liquid inside gleamed coldly under the light.

I panicked completely.

“Let go of me!”

“Help!”

“I’m not mentally ill!”

But no one listened.

Everyone pinned me down with cold indifference.

The needle came closer and closer.

Just as it was about to pierce my skin, the shriek of brakes tore through the air, and a clear voice rang out.

“Let me see which one of you dares touch her.”

A man stepped out of a luxury car, dressed in a black overcoat. His presence was so oppressive it was almost hard to breathe.

And when he saw me pinned to the ground, his eyes darkened terrifyingly.
