He loosened his grip slightly, looking down at me as he pressed his hot forehead against mine. “Say it again.”

“Say what?”

“Say you’re mine.”

His hot breath brushed against my ear, making me shiver as I looked away. “Julian, how old are you?”

“Come on, please.”

He dragged out the last word in that soft, whining tone he used to use in high school when he wanted to copy my chemistry homework.

Defeated, I whispered, “Fine. Yes.”

“Yes to what?”

“Yes to being with you.”

“With who?”

“With Julian.”

Finally satisfied, he let out a dazed laugh and buried his face back into my shoulder. “Hazel, you’re the best.”
