My Cold-Blooded Alpha Came Home and Found His Younger Self Calling Me Wife Chapter 08

The living room went silent. Adrian stared at me, his voice strained out of its usual calm.

“Evelyn, do you even hear yourself? You want to keep two versions of me, at two different ages, by your side? What do you think I am?”

Young Adrian reacted just as strongly.

“Why keep him at all? Anything he can give you, can give you someday. He’s already failed you for three years!”

I looked at them calmly.

“Adrian.”

I turned to my husband first.

“We both know what you’ve given me over the past three years. I need your status, your connections, and your resources, and I won’t pretend they mean nothing. But I need companionship and emotional support too, and you haven’t given me either in a very long time.”

His jaw locked, and his scent turned sharp with suppressed anger.

“So you’re going to let him fill that role?”

“He is your past self.”

I tapped my fingertips lightly against the table.

“I didn’t bring some strange male wolf into our home. I’m only letting another version of you stay.”

“That’s not the same.’

“Of course it isn’t.”

I smiled faintly.

“You at eighteen are far more interesting than you are now. If you can’t accept that, we can file for divorce tomorrow and break the mate bond. The gallery stays with me, and we divide the rest according to the prenup. You can keep being a lawyer and an Alpha while I take him and live my own life.”

Adrian went rigid. For one brief second, his Alpha pressure vanished, and his scent betrayed a flash of pant

“You would break our bond for him?”

I nodded. I knew he did not want that. Our marriage had never been passionate, but we had long since become part of each other’s lives. The marriage and the bond benefited both families, the Pack, and us.

But his reaction was not the cold calculation of a man weighing profit and loss. He looked genuinely terrified that I might abandon him. Then I turned to young Adrian.

“As for you.”

My voice turned cold.

“You have no legal identity, and you can’t survive alone in modern pack society. You eat my food and live in my home. If you can’t accept him, the door is right there. Go sleep on the streets until pack patrol finds you without ID and takes you to an intake facility.”

The boy grabbed my arm and looked at me with openly pleading eyes.

“No. I’ll listen to you. I’ll do whatever you say.”

I patted his head. At least he knew when to back down, unlike his adult self.
