My Brother Denied Me for His Girlfriend Then the Livestream Turned on Them Chapter 07

By the time we reached the police station, the livestreams had ended.

Online, however, the story was only getting bigger.

Thousands of people were waiting for updates.

The moment Louis arrived, he started pressuring us to drop the matter.

“We’re family. There is no reason to involve the police.”

I gave him a cold smile.

“Family? I thought you were an only child.”

That shut him up.

I insisted on documenting my injuries.

I wasn’t going to let what happened disappear with a few fake apologies.

!

I also demanded that Hailey publicly apologize on her channel and correct the lies she’d spread

about me online.

She refused.

She clung to Louis, crying and throwing a fit.

Then, as if she’d just remembered her final weapon, she pressed a hand to her stomach.

“I’m pregnant with your child. If you abandon me now, I’ll end the pregnancy today!”

To prove it, she pulled several medical documents from her bag as though she’d prepared them in

advance.

Within seconds, she and Louis were hugging each other and talking excitedly.

They practically looked ready to start picking baby names.

Louis waved at me smugly.

“All right, Leslie. Hailey is pregnant now, so stop making this difficult. I’ll have her apologize. You can’t keep going after a pregnant woman who was emotional. When your nephew is born, you’ll probably be helping us take care of him anyway.”

I stared at the two of them like they were idiots.

“I still want my injuries documented.”

When Hailey realized I wasn’t backing down, she dropped onto the floor and started throwing a

tantrum.

“I’m not moving. Touch me if you dare. I’m pregnant. Just try it!”

Louis actually looked proud of her.

The officers looked exhausted.

Then my parents rushed into the station.

Their expressions were so dark that even I went quiet.

Louis somehow failed to notice.

He grabbed Hailey’s hand and pulled her toward them.

“Mom, Dad, you’re finally here! I’ve got great news. You’re going to be grandparents. Hailey’s pregnant, and I’m sure it’s a boy. Your first grandson.”

Then he pointed at me.

“You two need to talk some sense into Leslie. She’s completely out of control. She keeps insisting on getting Hailey charged and won’t listen to me.”

He kept going.

“It was just a joke between future sisters-in-law. Leslie is the one making everything into a huge issue. If you keep spoiling her, Hailey is going to suffer after she marries into this family.”

My father slowly raised his hand.

Then he slapped Louis across the face.

Louis barely had time to react before Dad kicked him and sent him stumbling to the floor.

If the officers hadn’t stepped in and warned Dad that he’d be arrested for assault if he continued, I

don’t know how far he would have gone.

Louis still looked offended.

He genuinely seemed to believe he had done nothing wrong.

Dad was shaking with rage.

He pointed at Louis.

“Your mother and I left five thousand dollars for Leslie’s living expenses. How much of it did you

actually give her?”

Five thousand dollars?

Something clicked in my mind.

Louis stammered and looked away.

I opened the transfer history on a replacement phone one of my relatives had lent me and showed

Dad the record.

Louis had given me only one hundred dollars.

That was nowhere near enough to last me a month.

Dad lost it.

The five thousand dollars had been meant for me.

Because he worried I might spend too much at once, he had transferred it to Louis and told him to

send it to me in installments.

He had never imagined Louis would spend most of it himself.

And the five-thousand-dollar transaction Hailey had accused me of receiving?

That wasn’t money sent to another woman at all.

Louis had blown it on games and in-app purchases behind Hailey’s back.

When Mom and Dad learned the truth, they were furious.

Hailey lunged at Louis and punched him several times.

“You lied to me! You promised that money was for my handbag!”

Louis grabbed her wrist.

“Enough! Why are you making this worse?”

Hailey refused to stop.

She insisted Louis had deceived her and that our family now owed her something.

“I don’t care. I’m carrying this family’s baby. If you expect me to marry Louis, I want a house worth at least three hundred thousand dollars in my name before the wedding. Not a dollar less.”

Mom calmly reached into her bag, pulled out a stack of photos, and tossed them onto the floor.

“You keep saying that baby belongs to my son.”

She looked directly at Hailey.

“I’m not so sure.”
