My Brother Denied Me for His Girlfriend Then the Livestream Turned on Them Chapter 06

The second Hailey saw Louis, her entire face lit up.

With red, tearful eyes, she ran over and threw herself into his arms, lightly pounding his chest:

“Babe, what took you so long? Your family is bullying me!”

Louis wrapped his arms around her.

“I’m sorry I’m late.”

Watching them made me sick.

I’d grown up with Louis for twenty years, and I barely recognized my own brother anymore.

The two of them looked like they thought they were starring in some ridiculous soap opera.

I let out a cold laugh.

“Why not tell the truth? Everyone here saw exactly who bullied whom. Lies catch up with people

eventually.”

With my relatives standing behind me, I finally had the courage to speak up.

Hailey glared at me, then instantly switched back to her sweet, innocent act.

She tugged on Louis’s sleeve.

“It was just a misunderstanding. How was I supposed to know she was really your sister? You told

me you were an only child.”

Awkwardness flashed across Louis’s face.

“I meant I’m the only son. Leslie’s my younger sister. It’s not like we’re competing over some

inheritance. That’s basically what I meant.”

Then impatience crept into his expression.

I knew that look.

He was getting angry.

“Leslie Rivers, apologize to Hailey right now, and we’ll let this go.”

I laughed.

“Me apologize? Louis, have you completely lost your mind?”

Louis clicked his tongue and opened his mouth to lecture me.

Before he could, Uncle Lewis picked up his phone, stepped forward, and kicked Louis hard from

behind.

Louis and Hailey both stumbled.

Still furious, Lewis smacked the back of Louis’s head.

“You’ve really grown up, huh? Leslie is your sister. She was beaten and humiliated today, and instead of protecting her, you’re helping the person who did it. What kind of brother does that?”

Only then did Louis seem to fully notice which relatives were standing there.

He stared at them.

“Why are you guys here?”

Then he looked at me and immediately turned accusatory.

“Leslie Rivers! Was this really necessary? You had to call the entire family over like a little kid?”

His voice rose.

“You posted all that stuff in the family group chat this morning. I was already going to tell you to stop causing drama. You’re an adult. Use your head.”

I clenched my fists.

“So you knew everything.”

My anger suddenly went cold.

It was hard to connect the man standing in front of me with the brother who had once spoiled me and protected me.

All I felt now was disappointment.

Louis hesitated under my stare.

Hailey immediately clung to his arm.

“I was just joking around. Leslie doesn’t have to take everything so seriously, does she?”

Then she looked up at him.

“Babe, you promised you’d protect me forever. You won’t leave me alone now, right?”

Caught between us, Louis shoved the blame onto me.

“Hailey is young. She got jealous. Can’t you just let it go?”

He raised his voice.

“We’re all going to be family eventually. You’ve made this so ugly. How is Hailey supposed to get along with everyone after we get married?”

To my disbelief, some livestream viewers actually agreed.

[This is getting ridiculous. It was just a misunderstanding between a young couple. Why drag the whole family into it?]

[I actually feel bad for Hailey. Imagine marrying into a family with a sister-in-law like Leslie.]

[Am I the only one noticing that Hailey broke into this girl’s house, assaulted her, and posted her online without permission?]

[Hailey was just jealous! If Leslie had explained herself, none of this would’ve happened.]

[She DID explain it. Repeatedly. Hailey just refused to listen.]

[And the original chat wasn’t even inappropriate. Calling your own brother “brother” is normal.]

Just as the argument reached a breaking point, two police officers arrived.

“We received a report of trespassing and assault. Which one of you is Hailey Morton?”

Louis froze.

Then he charged toward me, only for Uncle Tom to block him.

“Leslie! Are you insane? You actually called the cops? She’s your future sister-in-law!”

I didn’t bother answering.

My phone was shattered.

Obviously I hadn’t called anyone.

Uncle Tom pushed Louis back.

Your parents called the police before we even left home.”

Louis went silent.
